I have a normal haired chihuahua. He sheds like crazy. Is there a way to make him stop shedding so much?

While you can never stop a dog from shedding,their are things you can do to help reduce shedding.
Use a shedding comb along with the regular brush.They are 4 or 5 bucks at most any mass market retail store.
Supplement you dogs diet with additional omega fatty acids.Many dog foods depending on the brand,do not have enough,or any at all.Canned salmon is a great source of omegas.I give my Lab about a half cup per day mixed in with her food.It will help with dry skin,will make the coat softer and more shiny,and in many cases will reduce shedding.With your dogs size,about a tablespoon would be plenty.
You can also buy omega supplements at most pet stores.They have them in pill form and in forms to be sprayed or sprinkled onto the food.

Excessive shedding may be due to nervousness, a skin disorder, or extreme temeperature changes in the dog's environment.
We suggest getting the dog checked by a vet just to rule out any skin disorder, then use a product called "Lo-Shed". It helps the hair folicals to hold ontot he hair. (We use this as part of the treatment for dogs who have hair loss due to mange.)
Lo-Shed is available at most larger pet stores, through your vet, and on-line.

dogs like horses shed all the time, out door animales shed twice a yesr, once to get rid of winter hair and once to get rid of the lighetr weight summer hair. Brushing and bathing is the only way to cut down on stray hair floating around, but you cannot stop it.

I have a 7month old puppy and the vet told me,the animals shed like that b/c lack of nutrition.You should go to your vet,wal-mart or any store and get your dog some dog food for nutrition.I hope this will help you and your dog out.Take care and God bless you.

No all dogs shed. Daily grooming may help.
