You "get down on your knees and pray" - either literally kneeling or 'symbolically'.
There is no unforgiveable sin, except that against the Holy Spirit (Matt. 12:31, Mark 3:29, Luke 12:10), which is generally regarded as being a calculated act of rejecting the salvation offered in Christ after being made fully aware of His message and His offer.
That is not what you've done.
And, consider, if what you added was not offensive or against the message of the passage, it is no different than a preacher commenting on a passage in a sermon.
You're obviously sorry enough to be truly repenting, so remember God, "is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every kind of unrighteousness!" (1 John 1:9)
The warning in The Revelation was to those who would add whole sections of false teaching - and by extension relates to the rest of the Bible. But it doesn't say it is not forgiveable.
If you must feel you need to be punished in some way - think about how it has been preying on your mind enough to get you to submit your question as your 'plague' for doing it! Now grab onto the promise in 1 John, stop letting it 'prey on you' and pray about it!

Just ask.....he'll forgive. I believe that the warning was for more serious "adding" to. There are many religions that add and take away from the Word. Look at all the Cults that claim they are of God! This is serious adding to or taking away from the Bible. Jesus will not hold this against you if you have ask Him for forgiveness. Accept that and do what you should be doing...not dwelling on the past....It's over! Christ said "it is finished" and that means when we ask Him for forgiveness "it is finished". God Bless and get in the Word and do His will.

Jesus is quick to forgive. Which is good because we do make mistakes every day. Just ask Him to forgive you and since you have repented of it (both by asking for forgiveness and have stopped doing it) you ARE forgiven.
Sounds like you are being lied to by the devil. He is the one who always tells us that we have done something so wrong that God can't forgive us. That is not what God says!
1 John 3:19-20
9 This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20 whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.
(from New International Version)
Rom 8:1-3
8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.
(from New International Version)
Tell the devil to get lost with his lies.

The passage you quoted was specific to Rev. Remember the Bible is a group of Books put together by us to lead us on.
Since, I gather you were not adding personal insight or making the verse into common tongue, I suggest you go and confess to your family, though I bet they knew or should have.
Now for God.
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

I think that Revelation is talking about someone who prints a Bible with words they added to it and claims the words they added to it are part of the Bible when they really aren't. Just be and tell Jesus you are sorry and put your trust in Him and He will forgive you. www.equip.org
