You feel mature for your age as all young people do.
I know about men who date girls in your age range when they are old enough to be your father.... and they want the young body.... not the young person.
They often pay a lot of attention to you, spend money on you, and come across as very charming, because they know just how to play you.
Don't tell your mom..... tell him the relationship is over.
You are not my daughter, but if you were, I'd be very concerned. I'm much older than you are and have seen enough of these scenarios to know how they turn out.
You need to get an education (college, right?) and find someone closer to your own age so you can grow up together.
Best Wishes,
Sue

Tell her that there's an age difference but when she ask how old tell her the truth, your mom can't keep you away from someone you think you love. And she really loved you, she wouldn't care about the age difference and she would let it go. Plus your 20, your almost a grown woman, and i'm only 13!

i am the first one to say that age does not matter. but however if you are only 20 years old, i still consider you wet behind the ears and a 38 year old with a child is too ole for you. you are still learning things and growing up. what could you possibly have at 20 that a 38 year old with a child will want? trust me....i was there too. look for someone closer to your age.

The physical age has nothing to do with the level of maturity, as you know, and as your mom knows. But she knows good and well that older men (I'm only 30, but I know this well) don't find young girls (you may be mature but it may not be enough) interesting much, they like young nubile feminine bodies a great deal and she doesn't want you to be used as a sex toy.

OMG! Wow thats.........umm if you really love him that much just tell your mom. If she loves you then she will support you and not judge. If she does judge u or doesnt approve then she doesnt really care how you feel she is just embarrased over you and doesnt want you to do what makes u happy. Love is love and age shouldnt come into play. Go and be happy forever!

If your were truly mature for your age you would not care what you mother thinks about this person.
Tell your mother that you know she'll have reservations because of how old he is but you really care for him and you want to see where this leads.

leave your mom's boyfriend alone!
(Ok, I'm just being silly... but to be honest... if you are over 18, don't worry about what your mom has to say. Follow your heart)

The fact that you're worried about disappointing your Mother tells me that you aren't ready for this relationship at all.
