The model no. is KD27fs170. when I turned it off I heard a soft chirping sound. It sounds like a DVD that's left running. I tryed unpugging it for a while, even for a day.whenever I plug it in that sound comes on and the tv won't go on. Even though the parts are under warranty, they're going to charge a minimum of $105.00just to come out. We paid $335.00 for it. Anybody know what caused this and is there Something I can do?

I service these brands..something internally has proububly shorted, and you are hearing the power supply trying to be restarted by the microprocessor. Without diagnosing it, it could be ANY short after the power supply..all other areas run off these voltages. Unfortunatly, youre either going to have to pay to have it looked at, or just apply the $ to a new set...Sony products should last much longer than this.( hint: IF you deliver the set yourself to a repair shop, is their bench charge still the $105, or like $35- $45.00, if brought to them?--Try to deliver it to them, and save some money).
