I have had problems with sluggish diaphragms in my several SLR cameras (Kodak Retina Reflex, Konica, Exacta, and Nikon). All seem OK for a year or so, then get sticky so all pix get maximum aperature exposure. Question: are DSLR cameras likely to be improved, or are they a one-year temporary camera? I really don't feel like laying out over $1000 for a camera that is only going to last a year - or less.

Exakta and the Kodak Retina, eh? Lens manufacturers have vastly improved the blades and lubricants since then. These newfangled lenses are much better ;-)
