Don't these misguided souls take the time to get all the information? They read junk like darwinism and fall for it without getting all the facts. You would think they would take the time to look at ALL the possibilties before making the most important decision in their sorry lives. I guess they have about a 3rd grade education! What do you think?

It is not because they are stupid, they are blind, and hard hearted. They are too proud to say I need God. They took science 101 and think they are intelligent, not realizing that we went to the same schools. They call us stupid to make themselves feel better about themselves. God calls them fools.

In my experience, people tend to believe what they want to. This includes atheists, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Mormons, Scientologists, Satanists, pagans and even new-age types.

There's a lot of information out there. It would take a billion lifetimes to "get all the facts" and "look at ALL the possibilities".

It's not just atheists that "read junk". There's plenty of junk out there - some people think that Darwinism is junk, others think that the Bible is junk, etc. Just because they think it, doesn't make it true, though.

Ultimately, it's not worth arguing too much about. Like I said, people believe what they want to, and no amount of argument will change that!

I would like to start by saying that I am Catholic and I do believe in God so please don't say I don't know what I'm talking about or that I am wrong or anything like that.
Now that being said, don't you think that you are extremely hypocritical? When you asked this question, you did not give all the "possibilities" that these "misguided souls" should consider to have the accurate information. Nor do you say what you believe in and why. It is a sad world we live in when people like to say things as a whole when they themselves know nothing about what is being said. Basically, choose the battles that you really need to win, because you will lose if you don't know what you are talking about.

I will give no opinion as to what I believe or what others "should" believe. The problem with people like you is that when you ask why others are so ignorant, you don't realize how ridiculous you sound. I would respect you more if you gave reasons(wrong or not) as to why you think you're better than anyone. We all know what extremists do, they believe in one thing and one thing only and will never realize how stupid it sounds to those of us who are able to look objectively at a topic and then form an educated opinion. Extremists in their very essence are ridiculous and wrong in that topic they believe in. Very hypocritical no matter what it is, be it religion, vegetarian, animal rights, etc... Blow up an abortion clinic to murder people to save babies, kill human beings to save animals, whatever it may be. Putting one form of life in front of another is exactly the reason they think this is right. Some things may be better if we just step back and let people do what they need. Who knows, the world may be a better place if people like yourself did not go spouting off the "truth" and open your mind to the possibility that maybe there could be another way. I hate to answer questions like this, but it really caught my attention.
By the way, when you ask a question, in order to sound more educated than the 3rd graders you refer to, maybe you should put the "facts" (as you say) in the statement so that the rest of us may look at them and form our own opinion to what we feel is right. Just a thought, and maybe the best advise you'll ever receive. It will work wonders in many other areas as well. You'll be a lot happier person. Good luck.

On the contrary, maybe Christians don't have all the information. Most religious people I know won't even look at Darwinism or even things that are fact. It is difficult to believe that an all powerful being created everything when someone introduces evolution, which is based on science. People say there is proof of God, but there is also "proof" of ghosts and spirits. Even Nessie. I'm not atheist, but I can see where they are coming from. So saying atheists are ignorant is against what I've come across and I live in a very conservative, religious town.

Frankly, I do not think you know what you are talking about.

You also did not say what Atheists should believe. Don't you have any ideas? You did not say what facts you are talking about.

I grew up a Christian. And, after much study and time, I converted to Judaism. I could not accept that my G-d would come to earth in human form. G-d is One-not a trinity. There is no G-d but G-d. Islam believes this, also.

As far as evolution goes----there is too much proof not to believe it. And, why does it matter how the earth and all life got here? It was all from G-d. This seems to be his way of doing things.

I think you're way out in left field on this one. I am a Christian but believe me I have met and read books by atheists and most of them are not ignorant and most of them are well-read. I hope Christians are as informed and knowledgeable as most atheist are. I can understand from being on planet earth and reading a lot of books by a lot of intelligent minds why some people would become atheist. I also feel Christians should think before they make this kind of comments. I at one time was a humanist but am now a Christian. I will say that very few Christians are as learned as many of the humanists and atheists.

1. You present no empirical evidence either for or against. 2. you do not know the educational level of all atheist's so therefore you yourself have made a judgement without taking the time to get all the facts. 3. That makes you a hypocrite 4. according to the christian faith all hypocrites go to hell 5. when is your train there leaving. 6. do you understand the difference between empirical evidence and faith? 7. As to what I think, your just another myopic narrowminded uninformed petty judgemental person who practices just exactly the opposite of what he professes to preach..

I think they will say the same about you. Some of them could even prove that you only have a 3rd grade education compared to them.

I do not argue God with an educated atheist. I just accept their opinion and so far all of them have accepted mine.

You cannot prove there is a God so why try?

Actually, a lot of atheists have read more holy books than the various faiths' adherents have, or at least studied. I'm hoping you've read your own holy book, as well as some other major religions' and some good scientific texts on controversial subjects... such as, oh, the theories of plate tectonics, the water cycle, and gravity.

Facts have no place in modern belief. If an atheist chooses to believe there is no god, they have a constitutional right to do so in the United States, just as Christians are free to believe there's only one. When it comes to matters of the soul, it isn't a question of facts, but what gives you comfort.

Before you accuse someone of having just a third grade education, you need to look more closely at your writing. I hate to tell you this, but no one can factually prove the existence of God. That's why people who believe in Him have faith. You can't confuse your feelings and what you believe you know to be true, your belief in God, with cold, hard facts. There is a difference. I'm a life-long Episcopalian, so through my faith, I know God exists, but there is no way I can prove it to someone who doesn't have the faith I have.
