How many of the original 600 + Jewish laws do each?

branch of Judaism follow? I am simply confused and do not mean to offend anyone. If you need more space than what is given please email me.

hello. the majority of the laws aren't applicable today because of the lack of a temple, etc. so while there are 613, probably only a third of them are still done today. orthodox follows them all, conservative does their best to follow them but has "updated" them, and reform jews have the philosophy that if you don't consider it personally meaningful then you don't have to do it, therefore they are extremely lax about the laws and only follow a few.

Reform Judaism says that a person is not required to follow the 613 commandments.

Conservative Judaism says that one should follow the commandments but often makes exceptions and ignores others in practice.

Orthodox also says one should but as every movement not everyone dose so.


also as a side bar not all the commandments are able to be followed by everyone. Some only apply to Women, some only to men. Some can only be done in Israel. While others can only be done by the high priest in the Temple.

there are 613 general laws (and many subsets and applications of those 613). Many have to do with agriculture of the land of Israel, or priestly obligations or things that are dependant on the biblical times. So do we do all 613? I don't live in Israel, am not a priest and not a farmer so I do fewer. Exactly how many? I don't know, but a whole bunch -- I try to do the ones that apply to me. I could give you a list and you can take out those that don't seem to apply to a non priest in the USA.
