Low back can be cause by different things...it could be spasm, bulging discs, sciatica, herniate disc, ligament strain, osteoarthritis...many things....you dont specify what is the pain coming from, but usually if you go for therapy, we will put on a exercise program, give you electric stim (depending ) give you ultrasound if is needed and if there's inflammation, & light massage. We can give ice or heat depending on the injury.

Go see a physical therapist. I found that I did not have sciatica, I have periformis syndrome, I learned exercises and feel much better. Your lower back pain can be from a lot of things. Is your job extremely physical? Learn to lift correctly. Lay on your back and put your feet up. Get an exercise ball. Walk often. Learn what is going on and what to do for it. Change chairs. Prop your legs when you sleep. Stretch your toes and the rest will follow.
