Listen to me, and don't even think about answering unless you agree with me and are praising me, cause I will RECORD your name, coward. What is so hard for you hicks to understand? You ENSLAVED the hero black people and now you are going to pay them back! All white people, except people like me who helped, will be taxed 90% and that money will be used to pay every black person back for their being enslaved. How much is owed is (Min Wage) * (168 hours a week) * (weeks in a year) * (200 years). As you can see it is a lot of money so we need to get started. Do you uneducated slimes understand?

Hmm...I don't agree with everything this guy is saying but I'm disturbed by some of the answers I read:
1) Jamaicans rounded up the slaves? For your information, BLACK jamaicans ended up in Jamaica due to the slave trade. They were brought to the carribean by slave traders and that is where most of them were kept before being brought to the US. You really need to read up on your history if you want to make comments on these issues.
2) Jews and Native Americans should be compensated too? Did you know jews WERE compensated!! And the US government did make a sorry attempt to compensate Native Americans, tax benefits, etc. etc..
Yes I understand that those Jews that were compensated were the ones who actually endured and survived the Holocausts, but the argument is whether the descendants of enslaved Blacks should receive the money that was owed to their ancestors...See every freed slave was promised 40 acres and a mule from the US government, and they were never given that...and just like any other unfufilled benefit, it goes to the heirs of the person (ex: If I am entitled to a piece of property and I die,then my heirs automatically get it)...so Blacks whose ancestors were enslaved would like their compensation...I'm not saying I agree or disagree, I'm just letting some of you ignorant fools know what's going on.

This is the wrong place to get on your soapbox,but in answer to your statements. 1. white people were only guilty of buying your(if you are of African decent)ancestors.2. the slaves were actually enslaved by their fellow tribesmen or a neighboring tribe that won a war between villages/tribes. 3. they were origanally sold to the Arabs before being sold to the English/Americans. That is the problem with the education system of this country,it no longer teaches the way history actually happened.

every race/religion has recieved some cruelty in the past.. the jews were tortured and murdered during the holocaust.. they should get some compensation too..
but doing that would make the economy unstable..
giving those who have been wrong power, may just turn into the people who took that power away from them in the first place..
i do understand what you mean, the people who were enslaved should recieve some compensation.. but maybe living in a diverse and equal society is enough compensation for now.. making what people faught against racism for worth it, making martin luther kings work worth it..bringing the horrors of the past up just creates more hatred at present and in the future, racism causes rivalry and war.. its just not worth it.. stop concentrating on the past and work towards the future
