Does anyone know where I can get gummy vitamins with iron for my daughter. She refuses to eat the chewables. Says they are "yucky". We have tried to crush them and hide them in her food but she can't be fooled. In the stores they have gummy vitamins but none with iron and the iron is what the doctor says she needs.

My daughter just turned 4 last week and she knows that not all things are pleasant but refuses to take the vitamin. I even explained, in kids terms, that in order to stay healthy she needs it and the doctor insists on it. If you do not have kids it is very easy to just tell me to demand her to take it but for those with young kids you know it is much easier said than done.

You can buy them from Amazon online. The children's iron gummies are called "Vitamin Friends Iron Diet Supplement" with a friendly dragon on the bottle. The gummies are still shaped as bears though, odd. They are also Vegetarian gelatin free, Gluten free, nuts free, dairy free, egg free - so plus there. Plus many parents think they taste good too.

They have those at Walmart. My nephew takes them and thats where they by them from. Amazon is partners with BabiesRus and it would be easier to get them from there than from online. Probably cheaper too. Also if you really want a good vitamin go to your heath/vitamin store if you have one and ask for "Peter Gillham's Natural Vitality Kids Natural Calm". Its a powdered vitamin that comes in different flavors that would be easier to give her. They have it for adults as well and is very good for you.

You may not be able to find them anywhere. I don't know how old your daughter is, but vitamins geared toward toddlers do not have iron in them at all. So look more in the area for 6-12 year olds. What about making changes in her diet to increase iron? Lots of cereals are fortified at like 90% of daily needs. It may also help to decrease the foods that counter iron absorbtion, such as milk.

Tell her she has to take it. Don't let her dictate this to you.
