The only way age is a factor is in determining if someone else can claim you as a dependent on their return. If they can, it reduces the threshold at which you a required to file. If you have had any tax withheld, and are not required to file, you should file anyway to claim a refund.

If a minor makes enough to meet filing requirement, then yes, they have to file. Age has nothing to do with it. If you don't have to file but had taxes deducted, then you should file to get a refund of what you paid in.

If you made over $600 and your parents claim you as a dependent, then you have to file. That doesn't mean that you'll definitely owe taxes, just that you are required to file.

If nobody claims you as a dependent, then you could make much more before being required to file. Last year for a single person it was $8200 - it's a little higher this year but I'm not sure of the exact limit.

Yes, my first tax return I did was in 2005 for a job I had for just a month in 2004 and I got a small refund back because the amount was so tiny.

If you earn enough money (typically $600). Probably you had income tax withheld, and you will get at least some of it back if you file tax returns -- even if you earned less than $600.
