Steven F, I think by return, the asker means refund. Assuming that is the case, I intend to spend mine visiting family in Scotland. Haven't seen them for over 5 years. Can't wait!

I will have access to my last 2006 pay statement and my 1098(?) from my home mortgage by Jan 5. At that time, I will complete the forms. If I get a refund, I intend to e-file on Jan 12 (the earliest allowed). If I own, I plan the mail the return on April 15.

If there is a refund, I would rush to the human resources department and change my w-4 withholding immediately. A refund means excessive withhholding during the year and it gives the government an interest-free loan until the money is refuneded to you.

I don't make enough money to pay taxes. And I babysit, so taxes don't come out of my pay check either.
