I'm considering purchasing Sirius satellite radio for my husband's F-150 truck. I really don't want an extra unit hanging around. What are my options. Do they make receivers for specific cars and trucks that fit the dash? How do I find one to fit an F-150?

You don't have to get a plug and play receiver. What you can do is purchase a Sirius ready head unit. These are available at Best Buy and they can install them for you, too. The head units are universal and meant to fit any vehicle. In the install shop, they use an installation kit that will get the radio to fit correctly in the dash of your F-150. Many aftermarket head units are Sirius ready. The brands would be Kenwood, Alpine, Panasonic, Clarion, JVC, Sanyo and Sony. Find a headunit you like at Best Buy and tell them you want the Sirius receiver too. They will install it all for you. The new in dash radio will work just like any other radio, except you can hit a button and the satellite radio will work right from it. The song name and artists come right up on the screen and you can change the channels using the buttons on the radio. No extra display on a suction cup or any other kind of mount. It's all in one radio.

No way i does not spend the money on it.. i know its extra suitable then standard radio yet why spend extra money till you would be residing out of your vehicle or perhaps you're on the line plenty.I recommend i don't know how plenty the provider is a month yet while it fee extra then $10 a month isn't worth it till you're in between the circumstances i discussed. Be truthful with your self too, in case you spend an hour daily on the line, how many stations are you able to possibly pay attention to in an hour. think touching directly to the time it takes to examine with the aid of stations till now you come across a fascinating one. So fairly, you would be paying in undemanding terms for those stations you pay attention to. My suggestion, keep your cash and placed money into an Ipod or any a type of transportable mp3 gamers.

I recently purchased the 4 way Sirius Satellite radio system for Chevy Sliverado Ext Cab. I had it professionally installed and they placed the unit to the left of my steering wheel on the dashboard. The placement of it does not block my vision when driving and it makes it easy to see/change channels, etc.
With the suction cup on the unit, it makes it easy to change locations if needed.
