there is no one better than the other in terms of military branch. marines are prided on being marksmen first or the best marksmen of all the branches. one would think their sniper school would be more intense than the army or navy SEALS but it's not. army snipers have their own schools as well. but in terms of the better sniper, there really isn't any. if you want best snipers then you'd want to look at each branches of special forces. delta force, green beret, seals and rangers. it all comes down basically to the individual person. some people are just better at understanding the bullets flight, better aim, markmenship etc.

There is a top gun of snipers and the army won this year. With laser targeting systems, there is no more "best." Now they can be massive killing machines. A sniper with support vs a battleship is possible. Just aim and call it in. There have probably been dozens of sniper vs tanks senerios that way.

A sniper is a sniper is a sniper...we all go threw the same courses. We all build our own weapons, load our own ammo, and deal with only one other AGS. Assistant gunner sniper. Our primary mission is to collect information and Intel, our secondary mission is to hit one or two high value targets, that are hard to get to by conventional means. One of the most famous Snipers is a Marine, "Gunny Carlos Hathcock". Other snipers with hard target kills are lessor known however have marked and killed several hard to get to places, one Army sniper in fact let a mule and camel caravan walk over him to mark his target with a beacon so a ship in the gulf could take the bad guy and his soldiers out with a Cruise missile. This sniper also blew up a weapons cash, was shot, killed the man who shot him bare handed, took his clothing and walked 20 miles across the desert to his extract position.
We are a brotherhood, and we do what is asked of us while staring our target in the face.

As a target, you will never know the difference.
Either way you will be dead before the sound reaches you.
And remember, 1000 meters is a contact wound for these guys.

Are you asking so you can decide in which branch of service you will be enlisting in? If that is the case I'd recommentd that you work on your grammar first.
