The hardest moment i had is when i was going back to the States and there where still some of my comrades still there fighting the war. It was tough knowing that i was not there to have there back if they needed me.

I was reactivated by the Marine Corp after 31years to be deployed to Iraq and Quwait. Just like when I was in Viet Nam, the worst part was seeing the suffering of a mother holding their dead or dying child in their arms. In Iraq, the seeing of mass graves with headless women and children will never leave my mind.

Sort of a hard thing to encapsulate in a simple internet posting, particularly for someone who has no idea what I did while I was there. The short version: someone died whom I was trying to protect. Terrible feeling, that.

100% the first moment that you are morterd, knowing that depending on the wind, and 1000 other variables a bomb launched from 2 miles away could land right on your head and you cant do any thing about it.

everything was different and very difficult , seeing people die that is not fun
