We all have souls! There is an afterlife!

Seriously, am I the only one nowadays that can actually handle the TRUTH that there is no soul? You are born and the genetic makeup of your body and brain allows you to have a conscious. Is it so hard to accept the fact that when you die, you just die. The atoms that make up your body are dissipated and go on to create other forms of life and whatnot.

I'm done with this

you don't religion per se to be comfortable with your lot in life. Go knacking or hang out with your girlfriend. There is so much more in this world than believing in this false entity that tells you that there is eternal salvation in return for your money

Agreed.
The people that need to believe this stuff are the most pathetic and intellectually bereft people I've ever had the misfortune to meet.
And if you so much as try to educate them, they rant and rave like idiots about how you're "posessed" and trying to lead them to hell...
Honestly, talking to a christian is like banging your head against a brick wall, it only feels good when you stop.

I wouldn't call the lives of Pres Lincoln, & most other Pres, Mother Teresa, Dr. MLK, Billy Graham down the line to the churches giving food to the needy each day pathetic. If you are down on the Truth I don't want to know what you're into otherwise. Get involved in a good cause while you have the chance.

Why are you here then, if you are sick of it? Could it be that the truth is reaching some little corner of your soul. Because you say there is no soul, doesn't make it so. If God says we have a soul that will live in Heaven or Hell after this life, I think I'll take His word over yours.

Certainly not. There are many atheists who understand that God is a mythical creation made in man's image and not the other way round. But there's no reason to get angry about it. We atheists will always be a tiny minority compared to the religious who believe their own BS about God, Jesus, Yahweh, Allah, Brahman, Shiva, Vishnu, Ra, Isis, Osiris, Zeus, Apollo, etc.. Best to be accepting and tolerant of the religious just as we hope some of them are accepting and tolerant of us.

Well, you came to the Religion and Spirtuality section of YAnswers all on your own. No one forced you to come in here and read the questions. (It's called "Free will") If that's the way you believe, goody for you. Why does others beliefs make you sick? I am not sickened in the way you believe, even though it differs from me. The real question here is, why can't we all just accept each other for our differences and carry on?

You seem to have a fascination with all this spiritual BS and with judging other peoples' lives, or why post here?

I see, you are now done.

If a person is powerless over other people and things in his life, the only thing he can really change is his attitude and perceptions to make it better. I begrudge no one their personal beliefs. Nor do I allow them to subject me to them.

No, I'm rather tired of it too. I'm also tired of people plainly thinking that these ideas are old and best done away with, and yet the same people will stand for the right for religious nonsense to continue in the name of "multiculturalism" or "freedom of speech" and so on.

So the answer to your question is a no.

People need something to believe in. If it's religion then so be it. If it makes them feel their quality of life is better.
Unless it effects you why bother looking at what others are doing?
It seems if you had some light in your own life, wether it be a person or anything for that matter..............you'd be happier

That is your opinion others are entitled to theirs. Science is nothing but proof without certainty and faith is certainty without proof. Can't always believe in science thay are the same people who until the late 19th century said gorillas were mythical beasts that could not exist.
