according to my knowledge,red rain has happened once,in kerala where the problem that caused it was algae spores mixing in the water and growing,causing it to be red

suggest you google it and do some research it varies from alien infected bacteria to some sort of algea - but the locals (kerela , India) had a myth about this way in advance and it freaked em all out - they thought the world was gonna end.
