He saves us from eternal damnation, from the clutches of Satan. He saves us from being separated from Him for eternity. He changes lives for the better, helps people in their time of need, and most of all, He loves when maybe nobody else will.

Thank you for being honest about why you are asking. I don't mind answering.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
Born again means that you have realized your position as a lost soul with only one way out, accepting Gods plan of salvation. Sins is our problem and Jesus is the only way to deal with it. We cannot work our way out of the sin(s) we are already guilty of. Accepting Jesus into our hearts as Lord and Savior is the only way that God has given us for forgiveness.
We are saved from sin when we become born again, a new child of the living God!

I believed in God all my life. But it was not until 5 years ago that I completely gave my life to God. I was an alcoholic. Satan had me in bondage thinking I could not live without a drink of alcohol.
Jesus broke those chains of bondage and set me free and saved me from my sins.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus that only a believer could understand.

Being "Born Again" usually is proclaimed after one makes a confession to God. Thus, Jesus has washed you clean of sin, and therefore reunited you with God.

Well he certainly hasn't saved you from that lobotomy. You have lost the ability to think and act for yourself and you have lost self reliance. The only thing you seem to have gained is a lack of confidence and the need to seek constant reassurance from you equally lobotomised peers

"I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to kill and steal and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."--John 10:9-10.
"I give them life and they shall never perish."--John 10:28
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life."--Romans 6:23
The Bible tells us we are saved from death and destruction.

He saved me from myself. I was dead in my sin, alone and without God. He gave me grace and faith through which He saved me - not only that, He gives me eternal life with Him. What a loving God we have.

From the second death.
Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
