Sadly, it is possible. Pedophiles might have a better chance of volunteering to teach Sunday School (or coach little league, or drive a school bus, or offer to babysit) than other people for a variety of reasons.
That being said, though, it is not very likely that any given Sunday School teacher would be a pedophile.
However, most major denominations have strict policies to screen out pedophiles. A pedophile scandal is pretty expensive. It lowers membership, makes fund-drives more difficult, and threatens the loyalty of its members.
As for control freaks, I don't know. Nothing challenges your control issues like a room full of children who are just waiting for their cookie during the coffee and discussion hour.

I've taught Sunday School, and I guess if I have my choice of the two, I'll pick "Control freak" for myself. :)
Seriously, I've known *many* Sunday School teachers. In denominations where there are fundamentalists, there are fundamentalist teachers (and they tend to be control freaks). It's probably no worse than the percentage of people in any other occupation in America.

Hello Tommy.. :)
I teach Children's Church to these precious little children, they are 4 to 6 years of age.. :)
I also teach Sunday School, these children are 4th grade through 6th grades..
I also teach Missionettes on Wednesday nights, the little girls are 5 years old.. :)
I consider it an honor to be able to teach our young, to Love, honor and respect everyone, no matter what their beliefs may be.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

I have no data to suppose that Sunday school teachers differ substantially from the rest of the population.

I am sure there are some, but I also imagine there are more that aren't that teach. They simply are hidden under the bad press of the others.
