Today when I went to visit him , he had developed a slight tremor. Does anyone know if the tremor could be a side effect of the chemo drugs?

The tremor could be a reaction to the chemo -- or it could mean the cancer is progressing to the nervous system. Your vet would know for certain.

We admire your willingness to give your cat as many options as possible to recover before calling it quits.

You know, I had a cat with cancer, and my vet was very honest with me. He told me that chemo drugs don't work effectively on pets and that it will only make him feel sicker than he already does. My cat lived another year before becoming weak and we had to put him down. This probably is a side effect of the chemo. Chemo therapy attacks good and bad cells, so you're putting your pet through misery that it doesn't need right now. It proabably won't work on the cancer and it makes your beloved pet tired and sick in the meantime. I hope you're making the right decision and I don't want to seem like I'm just criticising. I just hope that your vet isn't just trying to make some money off of a loving pet owner...

You can join the Yahoo group felinecancer right away. "Approval" by the moderator should only take 24 hours. All the people there have cats with cancer, may have cats currently on chemo, and, other than the veterinarian, have lots of information and support to offer you.

Sorry to hear about your cat. You should ask the vet about the side effects.

Felix...I know it's hard, but as an owner of a domesticated animal, it is your responsibility to do what is best for your cat.

I know it will be hard to loose them, but think of the pain and the quality of life the cat will have after this. Maybe it's time to have a cool final moment with them and then put them down.

I had to do with my CJ as he had cancer and wasn't getting anybetter. We got to speand time with him in a room with a huge fish tank and he was wanting to get the fish in the tank. I like to think that he went to sleep with visions of catching and eating one of those yummy fish.

Ask your vet. He is the only one that can legally diagnose the problem.
