Most founders of the world's religions claimed to have seen an entity who instructed them to start that entity's version of religion. These founders, based on their personal accounts, were true to their words and they all strongly believed that theirs was the true religion becoz of the realness of their experience with their respective entities.

When an enlightened person leaves body. His folllowers who couldnot get enlightened interptret his teachings and form a religion. Which sometimes subdivides into further religions due to difference in opinion of the followers. Enlightened person unites mankind whereas religion may or may not. Though the core of all religions is same, few know it. Because the person who heads religion is not enlightened. Enlightened work for humanity and not for marketing religions.

The "religions" of the world are Man-Made and in that of itself leaves them subject to failure; thus, no unity. Get away from "religion(s)" and their man made constitutions and follow "Christ" teachings (thus be a Christian) from the Bible and you will see the difference. The Church as established by Jesus Christ and preached by the Apostles is the ONLY way for the world to know unity. You cannot follow Gods Word (Bible) and hate your neighbour; shoot your neighbour; have sex with your neighbours wife or non of the other things that cause division between peoples and nations. This also works on the national scene between countries, races, and creeds.

LOL Didn't the Bible have Babel. We can manage not being united all by ourselves, we don't need aliens from outer space to do it.
