No, and it will not kill the fleas. All it will do is remove the natural oils from his coat and cause him to have very flaky itchy skin. Go to a pet store and buy advantage or frontline and put on him (the petco near me carries both). Also, you will need to treat the area for fleas and wash all of the puppies toys and bedding.

You can safely use Dawn dishwashing liquid.Make sure to rinse thoroughly and dry out of drafts. Many VETS RECOMMEND it to bath your pets. It is SAFE to use.The Wildlife Association uses it on birds and animals that get in oil spills, etc.It is actually safer then most OTC flea shampoos, flea collars, flea preventatives. It will NOT dry out the skin unless used too often (which will happen with any product). It will only kill fleas that are present at the time of the bath. it will not kill those that get on the puppy after nor will it kills eggs & larve.
Your puppy is not to young to have a bath.Just make sure to rinse him thoroughly, dry him well, keep him warm and out of drafts. Also make sure to not get soap/water in his eyes or ears.
As for proper flea control use a product such as Frontline or Advantage from the vet.

It is OK to bath your animals in Dawn Dish soap, it will kill the flees and also make them smell good to. That is the only thing that i use. I have 2 small dog and 1 cat and i bath all of them in Dawn dish soap about every 2 to 3 weeks. It also help with the flees problem to. You can use the one that has bleach in the dish soap to and it won't hurt your pet. sandy_buckie

no, because if you want dry skin them go ahead. the best thing to do is to use baby shampoo and the flea comb them out it is better for them right now til they get older, then you can use the dish soaplike "dawn". right now the hair and skin on puppies is very senstive and will dry out really bad, so you should wait to use the dish soap. but yes you can use it when they get older around 10-11 months. good luck

No. it will disturb the ph of his skin. If you need to kill fleas, go the the vet and get Frontline Plus. Then 48 hours later use a specially formulated shampoo for dogs. You can get it at Petco or Petsmart.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! There are chemicals in the dish soap that could cause serious harm to the dog - go to a pet store and buy some dog shampoo that is made for ridding your animal of fleas.
This is the stuff I used on my dog - they may have a special formulation for puppies - I found it at PetSmart:
http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441806988&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032917&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1165705634915&itemNo=2&Ntt=flea+shampoo&In=Dog&previousText=flea+shampoo&N=2023689
She's doing fine too - just look at my pic.

actual not. canine have sensative epidermis while in comparison with human beings and making use of harsh chemicals which includes dish cleansing soap will in simple terms worsen the canine or finally end up in painful rashes. that's additionally why you may in simple terms provide your canine a bathtub in simple terms as quickly as a month. i could propose not extra then 2 in case your canine is exterior. you need to purchase domestic dog shampoo.

Your puppy is awful young and has very sensitive skin. You may be doing more harm than good. I would call your veterinarian and ask him/her, what the best thing is to use.
