One does not have to be a missionary to comply with Jesus' command to make disciples. Jehovah's Witnesses are doing this work world wide in 235 lands. Their main publication, The Watchtower, is published each month in 140 languages. Jehovah's Witnesses do not pay a clergy class to do this work. They all have a share. Wherever you live, they are.

I have been a missionary 7 months out of this year. Right now I am in college, but earlier I was a teacher and a maintenance man for a Christian School. It was strictly a missionary field and paid no salary.

If you are a Christian, you are to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world you live in. It is a command from God, not a request. If you cannot tell others about Christ, perhaps someone needs to tell you about Christ and what He did for you by taking your place and paying for your sins. I believe that the Bible cleary tells us to GO (not sit and wait) and MAKE Disciples (followers of Jesus) of ALL Nations (not just a few)

I do that in many ways. Give gospel tracts at halloween inside the bag of treats we give the kids who come to our home. I also write a Christmas letter each year and always end it with the gospel. I have many relatives who are not saved.

I also have a web site and invite everyone to visit it. This could be a good way for you to share Christ with people on your email list. Send them the link prayerfully.

I have had people from 50 countries visit this web site. It is just one more tool to share Jesus with a lost world in need of a Savior.

In those instructions it says as you go. Does not say go out of your way, though if there was a seeker I would go to that one. The idea of being a bother to others is not in there. I did missionary work for 15 years and saw many get saved but I let them come to me and because I was a good example they did come to me.

The best way to be a disciple of God is through example. My children have seen and are following the example set by myself and my husband and have both chosen to be baptized because of that. I also have neighbors who have come to me for spiritual guidance. I do believe if you live for God, some people will see Him at work through you and accept Jesus as their Savior. I hope so. God Bless and Merry Christmas.

I'm a missionary right here on Yahoo Answers... but not for Jesus, of course...! That would be spreading lies... great big fat ones... and I don't do that because its wrong to disseminate misinformation and falsehoods... and it's wrong - very very wrong - to lead people on to believe that there's a God ...and it's just plain dumb to tell people that they will live after they die, because they won't. That's impossible.

That's why my mission work is to spread the word for Atheism. I like to think of it as "Saving poor souls from getting saved for no good reason."

Happy Holidays to all.

Well, I go out with other disciples and preach the good news from the Bible. We have free home Bible studies with people, teaching them not our own opinion, but what the Bible says. I write letters, and answer people's questions from the Bible at every opportunity.

Well, one obvious and notable example is in this "religion" forum
Who knows how many lives are being impacted by believers who are sharing life-giving answers to such a large and diverse group of people.
