And why can't they get a life instead of mucking up this site where some of you are asking real questions and searching for real answers? Hint: atheist's, this is a rhetorical question. (That means I don't really expect a intelligent answer.) And judgeing by some of your comments, I'm sure I won't be disappointed. And please remember it was our Christian forfathers that formed the constitution insuring your right to go on the internet or by any public means freely say what you want to. You're even free to make a fool of yourself if you so desire. I am kindly asking you to quit exercising that freedom here. Again, get a life.

Firstly, why don't you get a life and stop "mucking up this site". Funnily enough just because you aren't religious doesn't mean you don't have the right to ask and answer questions. Non-religious people are capable of giving profound and meaningful answers.

If you're not really expecting an intelligent answer it may be because you haven't asked an intelligent (rhetorical) question.

Its a shame that your "Christian forefathers" gave you the right to be so pompous, dominating and down right rude.

You've made quite the fool of yourself already, you really don't need others to do it for you.

I will answer questions where I please and will kindly get a life if you will. You obviously enjoy dwelling on the choices of others instead of concentrating on your own. Maybe if you did so, you wouldn't be so bitter.

Considering you come across as such a know-it-all, it would be nice if you could learn to write in proper paragraphs and concentrate on your spelling; its "forefathers" not "forfathers".

Good day, you self righteous idiot.

Frankly, many of the atheists (excluding the trolls) are very knowledgeable about various faiths. They have just come to the conclusion that there are too many contradictions, both within the holy books, practices of faith, the inability of the faithful to agree in many cases, and scientific findings, to be able to believe.

In regards to the "mucking up" of this site, why not take a different perspective here? The point of the site is to ask questions, and receive knowledgeable answers. Just because those answers don't agree with your particular faith, it does not make them a mockery or ignorant. If you hold the biblical story of Noah to be true, will reading the actual account that it is based on (and verified thru scientific means) shake up your faith?

One last point...there is absolutely nothing "kind" about asking people to stop exercising freedom, nor how you've gone about asking it. Eloquent and kind are not necessarily the same thing.

To answer your "rhetorical" question, I for one have NOT come on here with the immature intent to bash and mock every Christian I come across on here. It might be hard for you to hear, but I've actually met some NICE Christians here that I have no desire to insult. You're just not one of them.

It's people like you who really don't do the Christian religion any favors. The way I see it, if a spiteful person like you is going to Heaven, then I'll gladly become Satan's dancing partner because Heaven won't be worth going to if getting there means you have to be a jerk.

Secondly, you seem to be a bit ignorant yourself because I know PLENTY about Christianity. I have TWENTY years of weekly churchgoing and Sunday School and Bible reading under my belt. There's no way you can possibly hope to think that because I'm an atheist, I don't know squat about Christianity. I was raised in the faith from infancy and only left it as a grown adult, so I know PLENTY.

Thirdly, let me remind YOU that our forefathers, while Christian(a lot of Deists, to be exact, including Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Franklin), knew something about respecting one another's beliefs, something I can see you're incapable of, provided you're just not some bored teenager with nothing better to do than start flame wars on message boards.

They also came over to this country from Europe to escape corrupt theocracies that told them when, where, how, and to whom they had to worship. Anyone who didn't, was easily accused of treason and arrested, interrogated(read: tortured) and often executed. You wanna go back to that, buddy? Neither did they. THAT'S why this country was founded, why the Constitution was written and why we have the First Amendment.

If we can't take it from you, you can't take it from US. We have EVERY right to be here on this forum discussing our experience and nonbelief in God. We're not going anywhere, so you're stuck with us. If you can't handle that, that's too damn bad. Grow up and stop acting like a whiny, spoiled child who didn't get their own way. You're not the only person on this board, let alone in the WORLD, so how about you pick up a history book and learn the REAL truth about where your rights as a citizen of this country came from?

I'm kindly asking you in turn, to grow up, start treating others with respect, and maybe you'll get respect in return. Angry, hateful, inflammatory posts like this will only breed more anger, so how about being NICE to people for a change? Trust me, it's not hard.

Actually, the founders of religious tolerance were Deists, not Christians. They believed in God, but not in supernatural revelation, miracles, or the divinity of Christ (by and large). Today we might call them "philosophical theists," and their closest descendents theologically are probably Unitarian Universalists.

I would certainly not dream of "searching for real answers" here. Be serious. The level of discourse here -- in terms of intellectual level, not simply etiquette -- is abysmal. I try to present an interesting point of view to people. I certainly find it offensive that you consider this forum to be yours for apologetics. Everyone is free to offer their opinions on religious and spiritual matters, and rudeness and ignorance seem about evenly spread between believers and atheists, as far as I can see.

I was raised christian, and even after I stopped being a christian I have continued to study the history of religion and its affect on society & culture. I've also studied a great deal of science, mathematics, and philosophy. You say we are free to make a fool of ourselves, but you have already done that. You are delusional, and your anger at us is probably a good indicator that there is a small corner of your mind that knows that to be true.

The thing is, Christianity isn't the only religion in the world, and the USA isn't the only country in the world - infinite diversity, infinite combinations...

You might want to look a little closer to home if you want to accuse people of "mocking what they are ignorant about".

Brother, the atheists have a right to be here and speak their minds, as you yourself pointed out. So, why do you ask them not to??? If their mockery bugs you, may I recommend this passage from Ephesians?

"10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—"

Blessings to you!

I will answer that by asking......
Why do most atheists know more about religion than so called believers?
It's a rhetorical question because most atheists have studied the subject far more than most believers have.
Oh and by the way,I don't think your forefathers knew much about the internet as it didn't exist in their time

Why do Christains come on here and prove their ignorance over very basic scientific concepts - like the real meaning of the word "theory"?

Your forefathers did stuff all for me pal. Fortunately, I'm not a Yank. Once again, you presume too much.

Anyway, you carry on bowing and scraping to your invisible sky fairy in the hope he may give you a golden ticket.
