An animal is just what it sounds like-you are a cop stopping idiots from hurting poor and helpless animals. Depending on the crime, you either arrest them; fine them; take them to court; sme go to jail for years etc. All in the name of reprimanding those who have done wrong to helpless animals-including hamsters; chickens; etc.

What's an animal cop? You'll have to be more specific. If you mean a K9 unit then yes you do have to train for it vigorously. And yes every state has a training program within the police departments. If you mean the guys who pick up stray dogs then yeah I guess you have to train for that too. Best I can offer.

I believe you have to take the same classes as a cop. Once a cop then you ask to be moved over to this job. Not all states have this, I have never herd of our state having this unit....

I dont think its a division of the police, but its more Animal Control. I believe there is a division in Animal Control to protect and rescue animals. You probably need some sort of training in biology, etc
