totally oppossed unless in cases of rape and incest. all other pregnancies should be carried to full term. there are thousands of men and women who would love to adopt a child. give the fetus a chance at life!

I don't agree that it should be used as a form of birth control, but I am pro-choice.

I have to take into consideration if the birth would be dangerous for both the mother and the baby. Or if the child was conceived through rape, or if the mother is too young to have children and doesn't have the means to support it. Or if the child could be born with disabilities.

It is wrong occasionally, and in most cases I would say that if there is no health problems or lives at threat, then an unwanted child should be given up for abortion and given the chance to live.

People who say it is wrong or it is murder are fools as they cannot possibly have looked at all the motives for going through with such a thing. Very few thing are ever wrong, just wrong, with no exceptions. Abortion is one of these things...sometime it is the right thing to do.

I don't have "my" view on abortion! Sorry. But, I hold to the view I think is correct - abortion is wrong.
I think this view justified by the fact that abortion is a violation of the rights of the fetus. Also it does seems like an intentional irresponsibility. If someone does not want children, why then they even participate in the activities that MAY lead to pregnacy? (there are of course theoretical hypothetical objections, such as rape, but let's narrow this discussion since it is small percentage of abortions after rape cases).

Note, I said I don't have 'MY' view, becasue I don't htink that "MY" view make any difference!!! Whether I like it or not - Abortion is wrong! So the question is not stated correctly. (as for me)

We are discussing the questin of rightness or wrongness of an act. That is, this discussion will mainly depend on the view of the morality one holds. (It doesn't follow that all views are correct, but it does show where one belongs: i.e. (1) realtive morality or (2) objective morality). For example, I reasonably think that morality is objective. That is, no matter what I, you, or anybody else says, rightness or wrongness of an act does NOT suffer. If killing is bad - it's always bad. If genocide is wrong - it's always wrong. If incest is wrong - it's always wrong. If infanticide is wrong - it's always wrong. ...So we DO NOT decide whether we like something or not on ethical issues. We aware of them, and we live by htem. Of course, there are some questions that seems to be matters of taste (like is it wrong to sing in the shower?). But there are as well issues that seems to be objectivly universal (is it wrong to steel). So, where I'm going with this is this: we should not be concerned with offending someone (becasue no matter what positon you take you WILL offend someone on the other side of an issue) but rather make sure we are taking RIGHT position. People oppinions may matter on different topics, but they cannot resolve the ethical dilema because ethical principles are NOT concerned with people's prefferences. If I prefer to lie, would it be right for me then?... no! lie is wrong for everybody alsways, no matter what. No matter what people's oppinions are or whatever the offenses are...

P.S. For those people who think that morality is relative and subjective: are you guys relative about your realtive morality or you guys objective about your relativism?
Usually people who mock others for being narrow-minded and not accepting the views of others, are themselves do not accept the views of the others. By the way two diametrically opposed and mutually exclusive claims CANNOT be true. Only one has to be right... ;-)

I am pro abortion. I believe that a woman should be able to end a pregnancy if she wishes. She knows if she is in the right situation to have a child. Knowig that a child is going to be deformed or retarded in any way is a good reason alos. Why would you want the burden to take care of a child like that. I do not believe that abortion should be used as a contraception.

I also think that people are not being responsible when having sex. There are way too many people women getting pregnant unintenionally.

Cells combine and have the potential to become a human being ... but they are cells, not self aware beings yet.

Abortion should be absolutely legal during the first term of pregnancy, and absolutely illegal after that. Think about it, it's easy!

When the child has consciousness it is a human and has rights, before that it is just cellular, like sperm on the bathroom floor, should we police bathrooms? Sperm has ' potential' too ... do you want me to save mine? Stupid thinking ... get over the controversy, please. It is tiring and boring and hurts some. Stop it!

I'm tired of it.

Yours Very Truly, and you didn't offend me!

#1-- I was adopted.
#2-- I believe that it is murder.
#3-- 12 years ago I convinced a mother not to proceed with an abortion-her offspring a beautiful young girl is alive and well today. I visit with her quite often-just the thought of her not being here today.....

ps something that I thought of last night was pretty neat:

Why not let the unborn fetus live and and let (him)(her) decide on wheather or not to have the parents executed?

Abortion takes on many forms and all should at least be rejected under most circumstances as wrong. However, under certain circumstances it is better than all other possible options and when that exists and at very early in the pregnancy there could be situations where it could be right.

To include too many details on this basic platform would be too difficult in this forum.

It is an elective medical procedure, performed on women. The moral arguements are just a political tool, IMO.

In a free society, the choice should remain legal, and more complete information should be taught in high school health classes. If people are more informed people, they can make better choices for themselves.

Abortion is tragic in itself. However, I would rather have a group of cells destroyed than a child--complete with a conscience and a soul--brought up in poverty and/or abuse.

The US government has no right to dictate what goes on in a woman's private life--that is between her and her God/dess and family.

well if a person doesn't want the kid they should give birth to the child and then put it up for adoption one person's trash is another person's treasure in this case the child is not wanted by the biological parent but the adoptive parent would treasure that child with all of their heart and soul

I think it is WRONG, it is MURDER. And it is a sin for the woman and the doctor who does it. People say they should have a choice. They do have a choice don't go and get yourself pregnant. If you do you a killing a little sweet innocent baby. If you don't want it put it up for adoption! But I think the ONLY TIME abortion should be used is when the mother could die!!!!! It's a simple as that. go to this websitehttp://www.cbrinfo.org/resources/picture...
