I am not religious, but I am spiritual. I maintain an objective and detached view of every organised religion and do not discriminate between any faith.

In my opinion, religion is a way for people to try and understand why they are here, what they are here for and how to fulfil their purpose.

I must question why people come on this forum and spout hateful and intolerant opinions? I understand this is not a serious arena for debates such as "which is the one true faith" but surely a little compassion and tolerance is due from people who claim to be religious.

I believe that forgiveness, tolerance and love are virtues expected from anyone who practices faith of any kind.

It truly saddens me that a Christian would criticise a Muslim on here. Not only is it cowardly to make such statements from behind a firewall rather than face-to-face, but it is as ignorant as the extremists who claim their actions represent their faith.

Religion will never be explained by a mortal man.

I am disturbed by the way many have taken my question so personally. It was not meant to be an attack on anyone.
Your answers mostly prove my point. Thank you.

Because you get those people that hate your religion.

I see what you mean, I understand that and agree....

An you keephearing people criticising and saying bad stuff about Islaam and the Prophet Muhammad. Why slander the Prophet Muhammad without the correct proofs? Why make remarks such as him being a molestor, or peadophile?

Here read this about The reason why the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married ‘Aa’ishah despite the age difference

Would you read all of that? Or are you going to ignore it because your ignorant?

Aswell as a few crazy people of christians and they just spread hate and false information.

It really hurts , when people say so much negative comments about your religion, and prove it when they got the evidence in the wrong context or not the full text, and a mistrasnlated one.

They are the ignorant ones that do this.

Also you get the atheist that keep denying the existence of God.

So it hurt a lot of people, and creates bad feelings. I started to hate a few people because of their attiude, and actions against a religion. And they don't listen

I don't see the point in creating hatred and spreading lies on here. For what reason? I don't know! People on ere don't have respect, compassion, tolerance, or kindness, forgiveness, nothing, but to do the opposite.... There is no reason for all of this! SO LET IT STOP!!!

So I suggest the best thing to do is, ignore them, and stay away from people like that. Because by us releasing our anger on them, will just create a bad impression in their heads of us, and that we are no good. So it's best to stay quite, and keep the mood in the right flow. Without cracking the egg and letting everything come out.

So it's time to bring LOVE & PEACE to this forum!!!

I agree with you.
We learn at a very young age that we must contend with the bully.
I answered a question asking how old Adam would be and talking about the age of the world and the earth. I can only say what I know. I gave the figure, Adam's age 6,072 and Rev.20:1-6; 1000 years will be added to that for age of world from Adam [ THIS IS ALL THE BOOK GIVES ], which has nothing to do with the age of the earth.
I alway give:
Gen.1:1,2 [ All exist ]; Gen.1:3-25 [ Earth is in preparation ]; Gen.1:26 [ Man as Adam ];

The response a couple of times is rediculous, me and the book are a real target.

Once I read to religious person Acts 2:27-31; While being blessed out, My mom told the person, I was reading out of a book that I did not write.

SO WHY DO THESE PEOPLE BLESS ME OUT?

I am just a student of an ancient book, I find it very interesting and see no way a man can prove or disprove it. I believe it to be correct.

Were you asking a question or just trying to voice your opinion? Religion provokes hostility because all of the different faiths you claim to 'respect' have 100% confidence in being the ONE true faith. You can respect Hinduism but would you say its the one true faith? You cant and then claim to equally respect Christianity or Islam.

Religion does more harm than good and I hope one day the average human will be beyond needing such an emotional and psychological crutch and such a betrayal of our reason and rationality.

Religion will never be explained by a mortal man? Its easy to explain and besides there are no immortal men. Forgiveness, tolerance and love are not virtues from religion. Read the old testament, God was a vindictive, jealous, hateful, genocidal monster. Thank God its fiction.

People who believe in one certain religion are very passionate about that religion. To accept the beliefs of other religions would mean that they were wrong about what their faith has been in all of their lives. A person of a certain religion may then come across hostile to another person from a different religion. They can't accept that their beliefs and the God that they worship could have been wrong all of their life. They wrongfully come out on the attack rather than discussing an issue with facts to back it up.

You're right...Religion will never be explained by Mortal man. but, that doesn't mean that God's truth is not out there for us to find...within organized religion, or without it. You can be very religious and miss the whole truth. Why don't you read Josh McDowell's "Evidence that demands a Verdict"? He started out to disprove the existence of God and that Christianity was false and is now a Christian. After that, why not read and STUDY the Bible?

This forum does not create the bad feelings. The bad feelings are already there. They are just honest about letting them out here because everyone is safe in their own house or wherever and they do not have to look the other person in the eye. We have more or less removed the HUMAN factor here and so we have this.

Of course it is horrendously hypocritical for a Christian to insult a Muslim here, but it just fuels the flames of hatred.

I think a lot of the anger that comes out on this forum is because most everyone came here expecting to “show people the path” and were expecting to find people looking for it. They were shocked to find that instead of people who were looking for the path, there was forum full of people trying to convince them to join them on their path.

Also, sometimes people misunderstand each other. That’s easy to do when you’re not face to face with someone. :)

I have noticed questions that are asked in a way as to make a person with differing spiritual choices become defensive. Many times in life I have learned it is not what you say but how you say it that creates a response.

Indeed, but you must know that humans live to justify their existence, and the only way for a human to justify his own life is to tell someone else that theirs is incorrect. It's a pitiful way of life, but humans are as such a pitiful creature.

Indeed, humans should show tolerance, but it will never be a worldly-practiced way of life.

To each his own. Different religions don't bother me, but sometimes certain critisms do have a point. As long as people aren't rude and can make a point in a civilised way, then I think it is good to hear others opinions.
