Being with child, Joseph would not push them to hard, even if scared, so maybe travel in morning and stop at hottest part of day continue late into night when cooler, by moon light. They may have (undocumented) help from angels (?) very handy?
Maybe 10 -12 miles before resting?

The King of kings was on that donkey. Don't you think that would motivate the donkey to walk that far? Anyway in the book of genesis 2 of every animal walked across the earth just to get to the ark.

Does that really make a difference? Come On! Does the fact that it was fulfilling prophesy which was prophesied a few thousand years before that mean anything to you? Why don't you read Josh McDowell's "Evidence that demands a Verdict". He started out to disprove all of Christianity because he had the same cynical viewpoint you seem to have and now he is a very strong Christian. Read it...I challenge you! And, you also might want to read and STUDY the Bible.
