Ok, I used to clean houses when I lived in Florida and it was at the very least $20 an hour, take it or leave it and a lot of people agreed to it. If they didn't, I was on to the next one. I had a lot of clients. I was no nanny, but I cleaned. You are doing both, so you had better get what you are worth. Light housecleaning does not include your entire list. Cleaning up after the children during your time there would include maybe dishes & dusting. Also, possibly sweeping and mopping what gets messed throughout the day by the children & wiping the kitchen table and kitchen counter tops would be it. Not cleaning tubs, toilets, sinks & absolutely not vacuuming or doing laundry!!!! Those things are not light. If they want you to do those things, plus watch children, you must have at least $30 an hour and no less !!! If anybody & I mean anybody tries to tell you anything less, they are taking complete advantage of you. I personally would not perform the duties on that list along with watching children for less than $35 an hour.

Toilets and bathtubs? I dont think that would fall under light housekeeping. I can see the dishes, and the sinks and counters. Well put it this way, straigtening up the house, doing the dishes, picking up after the kids and sweeping and mopping would be light and so would vacumming. But the bathtubs and toilets are not lol. If you were to walk into the house basically you would pick up everything you can see thats out of place, but as for dusting and things like that, thats more like housekeeping.

I am a nanny and I get paid to Take care of the kids. Make sure they are not infront of the TV all day. Take care of any mess the kids and I make. Other than that I will throw a load of laundry in if its sorted out and on the floor in the laundry room and if i have the time to do so. As for the beds The kids make their own bed. Granted it is NOT perfectly made but it is made.
They are taking advantage of you. I would either ask for a higher wage or tell them that you can not do all of these things and still take care of the child(ren). I don't do dusting or cleaning toilets and bath tubs. If I make a mess in the sink or one of the kids do then we will clean it up. Other than that if they want something done then I would expect to be paid more for it.

I think light housekeeping would consist of sweeping, mopping, possibly dishes, vaccuming, and straightening. Dusting and the extreme cleaning of bathrooms and such is a bit excessive for "light housekeeping".

Light housekeeping??? dishes, dusting, and cleaning sinks and counters...that's it from your list. The rest you should be paid extra for. The whole list is basically ALL of the housework a house needs.

Seems fine except the mopping part, light housekeepign should not be too labor intensive.
