I stayed in Perth WA for a month a couple of years ago and wish i had stayed.
If it wasn't for my parents health I would be over there now without a doubt.
I loved Margaret River and hired a camper van went up to Kalgoorlie/Boulder and down to the south coast, east to the Indian ocean side then back up to Perth.
It was very hot (40'c+) some days but the city just felt right.
I want to go back.
Take me with you!

I recently spent 6 months living and working in Perth and couldn't agree more with you. It has everything you could want in a city , my favourite being the countryside surrounding it. Its an expanding place making it a city of opportunity. I know I'll be returning there , this time for a longer.
P.S. Don't tell anyone about Perth or they'll all want to get some...

Perth WA........ By all means do come back and live here. It really has a lifestyle which is just so good. Somebody who's working class elsewhere can come here and within five years they can be set up for life with all the comforts and even luxuries. There is a BOOM in the mining industry and work for everyone either directly or indirectly in that industry............... BUT.... Before you come. Please write to the Commissioner of Police (who's also a Pom) and demand that he give the "Zero Tolerance on Crime" some very very very very serious consideration. It really has become a case of 'giving an inch and people taking a mile' and Perth becoming more and more like LA every year. If New York City crime could be cut as much as it was by the Mayor's acceptance/insistence of the Zero Tolerance approach, then any city in the world can be cleaned up as much. Perth sadly seems to have a commissioner far too ready to go easy on things and to my mind, its really a case of 'sparing the rod and spoiling the child' as far as crime here goes. If I sound passionate and even disturbed, its that its my home town and it saddens me to see it going to the dogs............ But do come here to live please. Too late for you to see the third ashes test at the WACA but nevermind........... You won't be missing much as far as the England team is concerned...... :))

Yes I emigrated from Yorkshire 2 years ago, I live just south of Perth now. I can tell you from my experience it is THE most gut wrenching, stomach churning experience leaving all you have ever known and loved. I am considering moving back to the UK but my hubby is an Aussie so its difficult. Yes, England is going to the dogs but that is a distant memory when you are so far away and so homesick. I can advise you to do your research, live here for 6 months/year whatever, but nothing can prepare you for the reality of being away from home. Good luck :-)

I google earthed Perth and it is a beautiful city! London is not growing and the rest of England is mostly countryside. So, no I've never been to Perth, but yes I have the same feeling after the research i've done.

yes, people likes Perth. It has been one of the top 5 most livable cities in the world for years in a row. Too bad houses there are so expensive now.

We have 4 top quality sides with every team to have made to the #1 in test rankings atleast once.So there will be a lot of effort, hard work put in by the teams to win the series & improve their positions in the rankings. And obviously eagerly looking forward for England tour of India being an Indian. With south Africa ranked #1 in tests,it would be interesting to see how they perform against australia in Australia. So this tournament has more competition competed b/w equally balanced sided,so would be better in terms of quality.I would predict a drawn series 1-1. Coming to India vs England,India clearly has the advantage.Although England may fight it hard,India would be too tough to beat under subcontinent conditions. With the pain of 0-4 last year in India's mind, they would be determined to take their revenge. And I too perceive this series and the next Australian visit to India for 4 tests in march as a payback series. And I believe with the strengths we've in our team,it's possible. So this series would be 4-0 in favour of India. And with Strauss gone,KP might seem the choice to open with cook. But I think they would go with bell, bcz KP is key to polish up the middle order. And Strauss will be replaced by yorkshire's joe root whom I think will be batting at no.6.

I have been a regular traveller to Australia and New Zealand for many years.

Personally I would choose to live in NZ but my wife has family here. Australia comes a close second though.
