CRT is short for Cathode Ray Tube. It is the glass portion that makes up your TV Screen on older TV's. formally known back in the day as "The Picture Tube" This is where you get the term "You Tube" meaning "Your TV Screen" The CRT ( Cathode Ray Tube) is connected to a bunch of wires and chips in the the caseing of your TV. This is what gets you your picture on the "Tube". Hope this helps.

If you want a more simple answer
A CRT is like a laser in the back of old tvs that shoot on to a film using a magnet to move the direction of that laser to each color line green red blue it will fly across the screen at fast speeds making a different color for each pixel which is made of the 3 colors giving you an image.

sort of like how glow in the dark works lets say you had an old glow in the dark rubber band when you put in into a bright light and remove it. It glows for a bit now imagine a film just like that but where you cold choose the color for each dot to make an image.
