A .mus file as in a Finale file?

One thing that you can do is change it into a MIDI and use a MIDI to MP3 utility.

If you have Notepad, which doesn't allow you to save MIDIs, you can use a recording tool like Audacity or WavePad, and use it to record your line out (otherwise, your sound output) and play the file in Finale.

EDIT:

First, can you tell us what version of Finale you have?

If you have Finale NotePad, you can't make a MIDI. That is why I suggested that you download Audacity:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Or WavePad:

http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/

These are freeware audio editing programs. They each allow you to record as well. They each have a setting that allows you to record all of the sounds that come out of your speakers. If you have Finale NotePad, then you can record using this method.

I looked at my copy of Finale 2007. It has the ability to Export to an Audio File. It might be on earlier versions. Check File -> Export.

If it doesn't, to save the file as a MIDI file. To do this, go to save as. There is a place where you can change the format of the file (by default this is set as .mus.) Change it do .mid

Then, you will need to get a MIDI to MP3 converter:

(There's some freeware solutions as well as shareware solutions in that link.)

Download one of them and follow the instructions of the program.
