I'm a Muslim. The Holy Qur'an is our scared book of Islam. We believe it's the literal word of God. It teaches a lot of things, and gives us general outlines and some specifities. It has 114 Surahs (Chapters) in it, and is divided into 30 parts for easier recitation. The most important things it teaches:
-Monotheism, and the belief in one God.
-The six pillars of Islam (You must believe in ALL of these to be a Muslim):
-God (One)
-His Angels
-His Holy Books (Including Torah and The Gospels).
-His prophets (From Adam to Mohammed Peace be upon them all).
-The Judgment Day
-Destiny (Good or bad).
-Sins in the Qura'n:
Islam agrees with Christianity about many things which are considered sins (Such as: Adultery, stealing, murder etc.), but it teaches us that no one carries another one's sin, therefore, there is no need for someone to die to forgive your sins. We believe, according to the Qur'an that Adam did the first sin, but it isn't "The Original Sin", it's only his sin alone. It also showed that not all sins are equal, some are worse than the others.
-About Jesus:
Qura'n emphasized in more than one verse that Jesus (PBUH) is only a human prophet of God, and that he created him without a father, same way he created Adam and Eve without mothers or fathers.
-Muhammed:
It also emphasized about that Mohammed was the seal of prophets, and no prophet will come after him.
-Descriptions of God:
The Qura'n described Him many descriptions, the most important:
-He is the One, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Merciful (Before every Surah you should say: By The Name of God, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful).

The Qur'an ("Qor-Ann") is a Message from Allah to humanity. It was transmitted to us in a chain starting from the Almighty Himself (swt) to the angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (saas). This message was given to the Prophet (saas) in pieces over a period spanning approximately 23 years (610 CE to 622 CE). The Prophet (saas) was 40 years old when the Qur'an began to be revealed to him, and he was 63 when the revelation was completed. The language of the original message was Arabic, but it has been translated into many other languages.
The Qur'an is one leg of two which form the basis of Islam. The second leg is the Sunnah of the Prophet (saas). What makes the Qur'an different from the Sunnah is primarily its form. Unlike the Sunnah, the Qur'an is quite literally the Word of Allah, whereas the Sunnah was inspired by Allah but the wording and actions are the Prophet's. The Qur'an has not been expressed using any human's words. Its wording is letter for letter fixed by no one but Allah.
Prophet Muhammad (saas) was the final Messenger of Allah to humanity, and therefore the Qur'an is the last Message which Allah has sent to us. Its predecessors such as the Torah, Psalms, and Gospels have all been superceded. It is an obligation - and blessing - for all who hear of the Qur'an and Islam to investigate it and evaluate it for themselves. Allah has guaranteed that He will protect the Qur'an from human tampering, and today's readers can find exact copies of it all over the world. The Qur'an of today is the same as the Qur'an revealed to Muhammad (saas).
Hope this information is helpful.

It is the Islamic religous book, written by a human, from the mind of a human. The Bible is more reliable, historicaly acurate, and God-inspired. If you are looking for truth read the Bible. If you are looking for a piece of Islamic history, read the Quaran.

Just some history for you.
Back in biblical times a man named Abraham was promised that he and his wife would have a child and that a great nation would come from that child. He and Sarah didn't continue to have enough faith that this would happen to them since they were in their nineties. So Sarah told Abraham to sleep with her maid servant Hagar. Thus Ishmael was born to Hagar. Hagar's descendents claiming the promise of God about becoming that great nation. Later Isaac was born to Sarah. Isaac was the son of promise. And out of his descendants Jesus was born. The Bible was written to follow Jesus lineage back through Abraham. The Quaran is the descendants of Ishmael or the Ishmaelites version of a bible. It is mostly just a history book with some similarities to the Bible.

It's the holy book of Islam. It actually makes a lot more sense and is much more informative than the Bible is.
