of course it is. If you don't know what you are doing get a microwave cook book. I cook chicken in it all the time. It is not just for heating. It is for cooking. I use to cook whole turkeys in the microwave. Look up on line "How do I cook chicken in a microwave? Don't be afraid of it. I have been cooking in one for over 30 years. And have made wonderful chicken dishes.

It is just fine to cook meat in the microwave from a food safety point. Steaming htem in athe microwave should be just fine just don't put the chicken on a plate to cook. You will have a dry tough flavorless piece of chicken.

All the microwave books say chicken is fine! Theres nothing 'lazy' about it, many people (for various reasons) dont have an oven. Try about 30 mins for the microwave.

Yes it is safe, but I wouldn't. It will cook unevenly, and by the time you get it cooked all the way through it will be, as stated, spongy and rubbery. There are much better ways to cook a chicken, and if you don't want to spend the time just buy it precooked.

No, because the miicrowave doesn't cook evenly. However, if you cook the living blank blank out it, then it would be safe to eat, but hard and rubbery.
