people would take my still wet clothes out and put them on top of the dryer so they could dry their stuff. i took their crap out and flung it over the entire laundry room, got a magazine and waited for them to come back

Definitely talk to the RA or whoever is in charge at the housing offices. I had the same problem too, people would throw clothes on the floor, open dryers before they were done, etc. I began to study down in the laundry room while my laundry was going so I could keep watch on my washer and dryer. I killed 2 birds with 1 stone, laundry and studying got done at the same time! Also, try doing laundry really early in the morning or super late at night if you can. Sunday morning at like, 7am worked the best cause people were too hungover to be awake or just passing out, lol (my campus was pretty wasted). Also, if you don't happen to go out on a Friday or Saturday night, try doing laundry then and no one will be around to disturb your clothes. If worse comes to worse, find someone who lives off-campus in a house and ask them to use their washer/dryer. Good luck!

I had a similar occurrence in regards to college laundry. It wasn't someone elses clothes stuck in with mine... it was someones freaken pen. Needless to say I needed to replace quite a few shirts and such.
If I was you I would go to the RA and address the issue face to face. If you don't then there will probably be no action taken to even figure out who the guilty party is. You have a computer... how about printing up a few signs in regards to etiquette and putting them in the laundry room.

They weren't your clothes. I'd have thrown them out. You might leave a note in the laundry room so other residents know that here is an unsanitary moocher in your dorm. You might also post a notice that says, in bold letters, any laundry found in with yours will be disposed of somewhere, not necessarily in the laundry room waste can. That was a really nasty event.

Your right...that is absolutely disgusting AND unsanitary. Yes, it is definitely meeting time. Have your RA pass around those yucky thongs to drive the point home! Maybe there should be a laundry room monitor, or better yet a video surveillance camera installed and piped into your RA's room. People act different when they know they are being watched. OR put a fake camera in there.....Ugh...that is just ranky.

The mian thing that you should have done was to have placed them in a bag as you did and kept them until they came an claimed them. You would then know who is the one that did it, when asked for the clothing, just say you separated them and left them in the washroom. Find the nearest dumpster and gotten rid of them.
That would have made a better note to them, obviously they don't care and have done it before so you finished the job for them but next time they will think twice before they place them in your machine or anyone else!

RA needs to have a meeting of all residents and stress laundry room etiquette

I don't know if it would be considered the best answer, but if it happened again.. I would take out there belongings and throw them in the garbage... that is truly uncalled for and especially considering what was in the laundry...

The letter sounds good. i imagine you should deliver it, only to get the hint out. yet somewhat, i imagine you should ignore about it because, as long as this does not ensue everytime, then this is not truly a difficulty. This time, that human being only ought to have had alot more advantageous outfits to bathe then time-honored. So, even although they did not have recognize for your outfits, you do not comprehend what type of difficulty they were in. only enable it slide this time so not some thing else vast ought to commence.

Same stuff happened to me in the Army. But I was very cruel. I took out my trusted little Gerber knife and set to work on shredding their uniforms (which aren't cheap). Once I finished I hung them up and left a note to SGT. ***** Do your own laundry, and quit dump your crap in with others!!!
