…and god DID create the world, he created Adam and Eve and he sent his only son Jesus to save the world and he could hear your prayers etc etc…
Would it be a disappointment to you if, god revealed himself and turned out to be an alien with apparent god like powers, but which could all be explained without resorting to the paranormal and the supernatural?

God turning out to be an alien could be possible. Nobody knows for sure, but most reasonably intelligent people would admit that it was unlikely. It is certainly not a belief that I hold.
I asked the question to try and spark an interesting conversation, but sadly many replies were just profane and conceited. “Go away, your ignorance offends me”, was one dullard’s narrow minded attempt at self preservation and I would urge that person to re-read the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines.
Thanks must go to others thoughtful replies, including from Pagan Rebirth, Love Is Great and virgodoll’s reply which was beautiful and inspiring. Thanks also for your honesty Chef Bob, Chad H and skylolo.

I suppose it would be. In fact, that's an understatement. God must be all powerful, infinitely wise, and express Himself with razorsharp justice (in comparison, our finest justice is a sledgehammer) and be motivated by truly uncompromising love. He must be all this. Anything less would mean that He is no God at all. The answers that He has to our problems would be no better than what we might come up with, given the time to think and act. Such a scenario would make me very angry and depressed.
However, there is much evidence, which can be investigated on a personal level, that leads many to find God and believe that He really exists.
I would respectfully like to return a question back to you. What is the best "worst case" scenario? That we believe in God but that He doesn't exist, or that we don't believe in God but He does exist?
If we choose the former, the worst case scenario is that we find out the truth and we end up with an extremely hurt pride. Essentially, we will be no worse off than anybody else.
If we choose the latter, the worst case scenario is that we will die for not having searched for God when we could have had the chance to live forever in the home that He made for us, the planet Earth.

I'm probably not a Christian you are speaking to with this question since I do not believe in a literal Adam and Eve as accounted in the book of myth and poetry called Genesis.
If I found out that humanity was created by an extra terrestrial intelligence, it would not shatter my faith in God because it either a) is God, or b) Is a limited being with power far greater than we can imagine but is not the limitless entity that I call God. It honestly wouldn't bother me to hear such scientific evidence.
Again, you're probably not speaking to non-fundamentalist Christians.

Well you might say God IS an alien (He wasnt born on Earth, was he?) with 'god-like' powers so I'm not sure the question makes much sense by its own logic.
As for the supernatural I dont think there is such a thing, if something is real it is part of nature.

Yes you can say that, because He is not from Earth, He is an extra terrestial meaning living beyond our planet but even though, He is still the One who created us. Now if you are think about other alien life forms, they too knows Who is the Real Supreme Almighty Being YHWH Elohim, and they won't have the guts to come and declare they are the ones. For sure there are other beings that were created other than us but Who made them is the same that made us. And by the way, The Almighty YHWH will not come to Earth and declare Himself to be The One, because He will stay from where He is and His Representative, Yahshua Messiah is the one who will come on His behalf. YHWH Elohim has given him 1000 years to rule the Earth and after that He will return the power or the Administration to YHWH Elohim for eternity.

Don't normally answer questions on Religion or Polotics as everyones views are different and that's where the arguments start. The only way we will ever be sure is the day we die. It will all go very dark and that will be it or there will be an afterlife. Supposing there isn't ok. Isn't it better to actually bel;ieve there is rather than think of the darkness part.

You have so many answers man!
God is Real for sure, I've had the BEAUTIFUL personal experience with his presence, ...and indescriptible peace, pure love......
You need to experience it . How? Through Jesus! Acknowledging that you have sinned as a human, confessing to God the father, and asking for his guaranteed forgiveness, and asking him to make you a new you through the blood of Jesus!
SORRY FOR SO MUCH TEXT.

Aliens exist... even Christians know this... and this one knows that we have many other dimensions within the earthly space we share with other life forms, yet to be discovered.
God created all of us, He came to earth as Christ and rose as the Holy Spirit and is, the three in one.
I've been made aware of this throughout my life... as a natural psychic medium, recorded by the church. long before you lot were born:-)

God told me to be an atheist.
First, you have to stop believing in the Standard Model, or your argument all falls down. Under the Standard QRM model, the things you mention are impossible, ergo, supernatural.
"Do you know where your physicists are?"
Some kind of 'super'natural Conspiracy is my only hope at this point. Otherwise, we are truly and completely screwed by our own consumption.

I'll take my chances because there has been too much evidence and the Bible makes so much more sense than anything else when you read it with an open mind and open heart. It's obviously the truth. The prophecies in it have come true, look them up.

No I would not be disappointed at all, and trust me I have actually thought about this theory myself, because it does mention aliens in the bible on several occassions. I guess I am an open minded Christian, but not a "religious" one.
