I'm gonna tell you the truth. I started wearing it at about 9 but I didn't want to at the time. My parents used to tell me that it's better to start now because once I get older, it's going to be harderd for me to start. I didn't understand why I wore it because I was so young but by the time I was about 12, I realized the reason. It was to keep myself protected from any "fitna" and so people would know that I am a muslim. by the time I turned 17, I decided to wear the niqab. Today I am 21, and I am very happy that I made this decision. Wearing my niqab makes me feel proud of myself in so many ways. I feel proud of being a muslim and more important, of being a woman. There are times when people ask me why I wear it and I tell them because I don't want people to judge me by my looks, there is more to me than my outer beauty. And this is really the way I feel. When I only wore hijab people would often judge me by my face and say I look "cute and innocent" now that I speak my mind with my niqab on, people know that I am open minded to hearing other people's views as well and confident enough to openly tell people that I am a proud muslim.
I hope this helps. Good luck sister. May Allah help you through this time. Remember, it does not happen overnight. This is a process but try to realize, you are not doing this for anyone else. It is only for yourself and for Allah. Salam.

as quickly as females get their first era they are adults in Islam. as quickly as a boy turns 14 he's an person. females start up donning the niqab as quickly as they start puberty that must be armpit hair, breasts taking off to advance, and so on. They placed on the hijab and overhead abaya from the cradle to the grave. some families make their daughters start up donning hijab from the age of two years previous others wait until the age of four or 5 years previous. No as quickly as they start puberty they could completly conceal each thing in Saudi different than the eyes. In Saudi women folk get married as youthful as 14. Older women folk who're previous marrying age won't could conceal themselves. yet maximum accomplish that out of admire for modesty.

I started wearing hijab the day after my husband and I got married which was October 20th. I wore it to make my husband happy and because I knew the Qur'an required women of the faith to wear it. And because it indentifies my religion. Though I am kind of nervous about people not of the faith seeing me with it on. Lol. I'm 19 by the way.

i started wearing the hijab when i started high school. i am now a senior in high school. i wore it partly because i knew my mom wanted me too, and because i wanted people to know that i was Muslim. Islam requires women to wear the hijab and wear loose clothing so men will look at them for their minds, not their body. its also protects women from being molested. i never regretted my decision.
