As a Christian, we believe that God is limitless and did not begin and will not end... a concept that is difficult to understand. Many things about God are considered a mystery. How old is the world? Mystery. We have theories, and they change over time. We simply don't know for *sure*, but we have science to make educated guesses.

You're probably interested in the Genesis account which talks about how the Earth was formed, the first humans were made, and sets up a chronology of about 6000 years worth of history. The truth is, Genesis is a book of poetry written in the Jewish tradition designed to explain the nature of God, not to be taken as a historical account of events from the first moment forward. We simply do not know.

Keep asking questions, though. It never hurts to ask.

He has no beginning, in fact in the Bible he says he is the beginning of everything. The earth is probably pretty old though because in Genesis 1:2 the earth was already there, just without form and void. It's not for certain when the earth was first created or when the dinosaurs roamed but it is for certain that God is the Creator of all life and he is the source. It's hard for all of us to comprehend but he is life itself. He just always existed outside of time because he created time.

It is only in a human's finite mind that one would dare to try to define or explain an infinite being. In a world full of beginnings and endings, one naturally supposes there is a beginning and end to God. But a finite being who comes from a world who's 'science' does not encompass such unlimited possibilities could never understand or explain an infinite one... one is arrogant to even suspect they could. How does one, so much smaller and less intelligent understand something so much bigger and vastly more intellectual? Even with practice, research and math... it is impossible. We are limited, God is not. Only God knows where He is from... if "from" is even a factor in His world. No one can propose to put God into a box we can hold... when we are the ones in the box being held by God already..

The bible says that god was already there in the start of the universe many fantasy plots also take that idea and use it to there story. ex. Fire Star by Chris D'Lacey I just finished it yesterday. Or the "days" that the bible says of which god made mankind and the universe could mean a billion years.
Kharos- God's time
take that into effect to help if you need it (i think i mispelled it)

The Bible tells us that God is eternal. That word actually skill without time. So God has consistently been. The dollar stops with him. conversing for myself, that's impossible to truly understand eternity, yet there you have it. God is the secret from which each thing got here. there replaced into no longer something previously him. he's the A to Z, the Alpha and Omega, the initiating and the tip. he's the best mover, the unique reason for each thing.

Psalm 90: 2 Before the mountains themselves were born,
Or you proceeded to bring forth as with labor pains the earth and the productive land,
Even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God.

mankind is only close to 6000 years...earth has been created long before...a day for creation doesnt necessarily mean 24-hour day.

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.

God is the light of the heavens and the earth. His light is as if there were a lustrous niche, wherein is a lamp. The lamp is inside a glass-globe. The globe is, as it were, a glittering star. The lamp is lit from the oil of a blessed tree -an olive - neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil well-nigh would shine forth even though fire touched it not. Light upon light! God guides to His light whomsoever He pleases. And God sets forth parables for men, and Allah knows all things full well.

good question, its hard to answer because there is no written history for the many thousands of years before humans were created so there is no tellin what creatures or lifeforms roamed the earth and what happened during these times

As a new Christian you should be very careful coming to this site. There are many that will give false answers to your questions. Also many non- Christian faiths that will try and get you to become one of them. There are many muslims here that will try and tell you the Bible is false. Please be very careful!!!

Study your Bible, know it inside out!!! That way your faith will grow, and your heart will be filled with God's Word, so when you get attacked for what you believe, you will know the answer.

Again I say study, study, study!!! And Pray, pray, pray!!!

I don't actually believe in God I'm afraid, so can't tell you. I think he doesn't exist and is a man made concept to help man make sense of the world and where he comes from. If God does exist, and created the heavens and the earth etc. as the book of Genesis describes, tell me this - who or what made God? Humans developed from apes, and to me God come from nowhere because he doesn't exist. Darwin's theories make far more sense to me. Sorry.
