You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Loosen scales with the fingers, scrub for at least 5 minutes, and rinse thoroughly. Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.
Shampoos or lotions containing selenium, ketoconazole, or corticosteroids may be prescribed for severe cases. To apply shampoos, part the hair into small sections, apply to a small area at a time, and massage into the skin.
Hope this helps :-)~

Psoriasis is an auto immune disorder that effects the way the immune system functions. The immune system of a person who has psoriasis is constantly fighting infections that aren't there. This causes there skin to exfoliate much quicker than a person with a normal immune system. Dieting or vitamins will not help. Psoriasis is not an allergy, people are not allergic to anything and still can have it, its hereditary. There is a broad line of medications in topical form that help, every one medication varies on the individual. A person may find a med that helps them but may not help someone else, talk to a dermatoligist. Try head and shoulders dry scalp care for a couple weeks, I find it helps. Also don't stress out to much, try to keep calm, stress can cause flare ups. I hope everything works out and I wish you the best. Take care, everything will be okay.

First off, I would suggest going to a doctor to receive the maximum medical treatment that you can for this condition. With that being said, you can also go shopping and pick up some health care products that will aid in treating your psoriasis. One of the biggest things that helps psoriasis is zinc. I have a bit of dry skin on my face and I use a zinc soap called ZNP. You will also notice zinc being a main ingredient in some shampoos like Head & Shoulders, Selson Blue, etc. That is why these dandruff and psoriasis shampoos work. It's because of the zinc. You should get a heavy zinc shampoo and go to work on your psoriasis. But a doctor will be able to perscribe a stronger zinc shampoo. Just keep that in mind, too.

Treatments directed at the symptoms include the application of ointments and exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet (UVB) light. Retinoids help stabilize follicular epithelial cells. Vitamin D analogs and metabolites, although effective in treatment, have side effects. Photochemotherapy (psoralen combined with UVA radiation) is also effective, but increases the risk of skin cancer. Alfacept and other drugs that interfere with T-cell (see immunity) activation, and etanercept, infliximab, and other drugs that block tumor-necrosis factor are effective in many patients with moderate to severe psoriasis.

Listerine - after washing your hair, put a Listernine rinse on it - don't rinse it out - when it dries you won't be able to smell it.
The combination of the alchohol and the euclyptus in Listerne do a great job on psoriasis! Works really well!

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.
For more information, check here : http://Psoriasis.naturallysaver.com .
You can definitely get back your life, your confidence and your self esteem!

Go to your dermatologist and he/she will give you some medicine(pills/ointment) to help the psoriasis. I used to have psoriasis rosea on my tummy and it was hell! I just waited it out and didn't use any ointment but i was so happy that it wasn't on my face or anything...

Besides a prescription from a doctor, gently massage your head with you fingertips all over(.gently)..The massaging helps to rejouvenate your hair follicles and give added blood flow to your scalp.. It feels so good !...I have found that it adds in hair growth...seriously! Measure one little section b/4 you start...If you massage daily for 10 minutes all over, then measure same section on 7th day.....you will be surprised....
