Perhaps she sees something you dont notice there like a shadow or dust or a strange smell etc. I doubt a shelter would have missed knowing she is a she...they usually spay or neuter their animals before they are adopted. Just accept it as one of her quirks...if she is part siamese she may have a few...they are very intelligent and doglike. Just enjoy the good things and dont take any notice of it and she will probably get over it.

That's not one I know. Sometimes cats just get really excited (one second they're placid, the next they're maniacs!) and do strange things. No two ever do it exactly the same, I find. One of my cats racetracks the apartment, whereas another jumps on the spot (on.the.spot!) and flips around loads. This might just be your cat's 'thing'. The main thing you need to ask yourself is whether she's happy at the time or upset. Is it also possible she can see a fly or something that you may not have noticed?

It sounds like your cat is upset with something. Is it a particular thing she does it too or is it just random? If its a particular thing stop doing it as its upsetting your cat. She might just not be settling in as well as you thought as this is something cats do when their scarred or nervous. It has nothing to do with a breed of cat!! You never know what happened to her in her last home, she might of been abused or anything. Go to your vets and tell them about the problem or go to a good pet shop and she what they stock in ways to calm her down for a while until shes settles in properly

Hi one of my cats does that, and my two cats that have died used to do it as well. I came to the conclusion that cats can see more than what we can, and they have incredable hearing so if it is in the same place in the house she/he could be seeing something that you cant, or can hear the house creaking. Cats an see all sorts of things like cosmic rays, dust, small if spots of mist that are not able to be seen with the naked eye
hope that helps.

She might have a touch of Siamese in her. Siamese are known to be quite vocal. Has she been spayed? That might explain the behavior if she hasn't. Maybe that's her way of entertaining herself.

To be honest I don't know much about cat's behaviour!! I have the impression that your cat feels lonely or misses other cats!!
(just an idea)...

there is probably a spider in the corner.
I think sometimes cats just develop habits to confuse / worry their owners.
