As a Born Again Christian, I like to be well informed about biblical matters. I read end-times novels and watch christian movies. I like the famous christian star Richard Chamberlain.
Just like the Book of Revelation, bombs in Iraq are causing people are being "raptured". Trucks and cars and planes are crashing as souls fly out of the driver's/pilot's places.
And Janet Jackson has showed her naked breasts at the Superbowl.
Clearly in view of these events Christ is about to return and we shall be judged.
But the guys at work say end times belief is paranoid and mystical. History shows that during the middle ages badly educated peasants flayed themselves in anticipation of the day of rapture that never arrived.
My reason for asking is that I need a second mortgage. If Jesus is coming within say the next year, I can get in hock up to my eyeballs without worrying about foreclosure.
Are end times are coming?
If so, when please?

Should I buy a big screen TV on my credit card? I don´t know, I would hate to get too much into debt. But the rapture will be best seen on the big screen I guess.

I hat to be the one to have to tell you, but the second coming happened right on schedule, just as Saint John the Divine said it would. A thousand years ago.

So the people who are disappearing from cars, trucks, offices, outhouses, courts of Law etc. must need another explanation.

So your best bet is to convince your neighbors that the end times are near, get them to get loans, buy on credit, etc, then put messages on their roofs that will attract space aliens (use aluminium foil). Things like "Space creeps go home!", or "Space Aliens suck eggs!". That will rile them up.
After the take your neighbors away, go take their stuff and their money, they won't need it. When creditors come around just say you warned them about the messages on their roofs, but they wouldn't listen 'cause they were caught up in the popular anti-alien campaign that started in Washington.

His priority is taking our wealth. According to the book of Isaiah, he will succeed, and we will stop supporting the "Immigrants" and their "seize of Jerusalem."
So you might as well get that second mortgage, and blow it on a big party.

How can anybody know that? The Bible says that only God knows, and not even the angels know. The things that are happening on earth are bad, anybody can see that. But after Christ comes back to judge the sinners, things will be much worse. a 1/3 of plant and water will die and other unimaginable things will happen. Nobody knows when. But go ahead and get your mortgage, cus that'll be the least of your problems if Christ comes back and you're not saved.

There are about 10,000 times in the last 2000 years that some one has asked that same think. Each era was the last era. If you have been around in the 60's everyone said that. Vietnam was the end of civilization as we know it. The cold war. At one time they were saying that FM radio would be the downfall of civilization and it was the end of times. I certainly hope so. It is very disturbing to see some of the stuff that goes on now days. It can't be far away. The whole world is getting to be one big Sodom and Gomorrah.
