Subaru wins hands down on speed and power, but it will depreciate like a pig, unlike the TT which will hold its value. You will also need earplugs for a subaru (its noisy in there!)

Depends on what kind and year of Subaru and Audi. Even the 3.2 TT won't be as quick as the WRX(6.2 to 5.7 R&D) For the price of any 3.2TT you could get an STi and for speed there is no question of which to get then. The WRX doesn't have quite the finish and anmenties that the TT has. I've always that that the TT looked like a squished VW Beetle. Although the 07 TT's are much better looking.

A Subaru Impreza Turbo/WRX, no contest. The TT is a lovely looking car, but that's all there is to it. It can pose, but it's basically a Golf underneth, and it's as much fun to drive as a Golf. Hairdresser-about-town stuff really, and that's it.
The Subaru, on the other hand, is a beast. It has the motorsport pedigree you don't get from the Audi, but more importantly, these things have over 200BHP, and are properly thrilling to drive. In fact, with the 4-wheel-drive, some of the more powerful models (up to 300BHP) could keep up with any Ferrari on a twisty backroad. The spoilers and vents, though functional, might not be to everyone's taste, but I like 'em. It sort-of adds to the aggressive character of the car in a way. Oh, and there's the engine noise too, a meaty rumble.

10 grand will get you close to the price of a used Subaru WRX, if you're lucky. Stay away from the Audi tt, as that brand's quality just plain sucks. You've been warned.

Me personally, I'd rather have the Subaru. Only reason I say this, is the AWD seems to be alot more effective in the snow that the Quatrro on the TT.

If you really are a proper hairy-chested bloke, then you have to go for the scooby, no contest. The image of the tt has been ruined by the poseurs and hairdressers who are inevitably seen driving around in them. The scooby is a focussed and individualistic car which has the character which is missing in the efficient and faultless tt. Drive 'em both and see which one makes you smile :-)
