James 3:16 (King James Version)
16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
1 John 4
Test the Spirits
1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Stife is like one big magnet that opens the gateway to all evil, causes anger, hate etc.

I will say this;
I have been involed in the ministry for over 18 years now. To some of you, dont kid yourself;
2 Timothy 4:2
2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

We can't expect to satisfied everyone. Some people like to hear the truth, and some people expect to get a touchy-feely kind of answer. If the truth causing strife, then it's worth it. It's not me or anyone else, that telling them the truth that causing it, it's their conscience that causing it.
A good Christian will always try to stay obidient to the word of God.
John 8:31-32
THen Jesus said to the Jews which believe on Him. If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free.
And by the way, I agree with Sheepinar... The scripture she used is right to the point.

1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1Pe 3:16Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Pro 30:10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.
I think you might need to not be one of the numbers that are here brow beating the christians. They get enough from others.

How are Christians causing strife among the brethren on Yahoo Q&A?
We are doing what Jesus commanded us to do.
Matthew 28: 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Some Christians abhor theology, because they surmise that it won't bring people to God. "Jesus is the answer, that's all I know", is what they parrot. But whenever someone asked that question that would get the ball rolling towards salvation, like, "Who is Jesus?", what would be the first thing out of a believer's mouth? Theology. How are you going to explain Jesus? You can't just stand there with your teeth in your mouth! You must explain, according to 1 Peter:15,16. Get after it!

Just so you know, most of the strife causers are little kids playing on mom and dad's computer. Not Christians, just kids that want to pretend to be mouthy obnoxious Christians so people will hate us more.

Despite my best intentions I always fall short in the eyes of God. But I'll be eternally vigilant and strive to follow his word.

We are not causing strife. We are having discussions and hence learning about other people's views and beliefs.

Your point is well taken; although most Christians don't cause strife we are tempted to react to the barbs of others. Thanks.
