Creatine helps temporarily during say 1 workout session. It'll fade your liver, not your muscles. And it's just as bad as taking protein powder, or anything similar. So really, if you're going to use it, just enjoy the pump you get from that use, and make the most of that workout. Really revel in the burn of it, when it heals you'll be stronger. It helps you lift the weight up, but the effect is similar to having a healthy amount of food and water in your stomach, but whatever gives you strength, go for it. If ever you stop working out, your muscles will fade, so I wouldn't worry so much about that as I was about how much of these substances I was consuming.

Creatine is an excellent supplement for athletes, lifter especially, and much research has been done on it with no harmful side effects shown.

In reality you should "cycle off" (quit using for a time) creatine every 4-5 weeks 1-2 weeks at a time as your body will adjust and become somewhat immune to its effects. Creatine helps with the uptake of protein and other nutrients and doesn't directly affect the lift for that day.

Your body naturally produces creatine, and it's also found in red meats, so the reason lifters take it is that it becomes depleted during workouts.

No, your muscles won't fade. You may see some effect in your lifting after a few days without it, but it won't be by much.
