If I were you, I wouldn't dwell on your dreams too much. Here's why.
The "science" of dream interpretation remains extremely loose, subjective, and certainly not empirical. People have been wrestling with dreams for millennia and have come to no concrete conclusions. Today, we aren't even sure of their chemical cause, though there are several working theories on their physical origins within the brain (see the Sleep Foundation's website).
They are mentioned in the holy books of nearly every major religious tradition, and are also written about extensively by atheistic philosopers like Freud. Carl Jung built a quasi-religious philosophy of psychology around them, which itself still remains full of tremendous holes and theoretical mistakes. Myself I am an atheist, so I prefer a more mundane solution than divinity, but again, there is simply not enough understanding about their origins or meanings to make any guesses.
People can be paralyzed by their dreams. I once knew a person who skipped school because he had a dream about a school shooting, and absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened at school that day. He still got in mad trouble for skipping school, though.
My point I guess is that there's nothing substantive to get worked up over. Dream interpretation is highly subjective and you can read almost anything you want into a given dream given an earnest and creative enough effort on the part of your imagination. Just don't sweat it.

Dreams don't often determind the future. They can be signs. But noone can actually tell you what they mean. Me I have these slight premonistions of a place I'm at in activities going on, and later there I am. Nothing too serious though. This kind of stuff is real though. Maybe one day, it'll be revealed to you!

The Bible indicates that God revealed His will to selected people through dreams or visions in Scriptures such as Genesis 8:12; 37:5-10; 1 Kings 3:5-15; Daniel, chapters 2 and 7; Matthew 1:20; 2:13,19; and Acts 10:9-16; 16:9. God may communicate through dreams or visions even today, but we need to carefully check any such guidance we receive with Scripture and godly counsel to be sure it is from the Lord. Anything which contradicts Scripture is not from God. Our minds and even Satan are capable of producing great deception in such subjective areas. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 shows that God has revealed His will to us primarily through His Word. It says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
If you are thinking your dreams might be evidence that you have lived a previous life, let me try to put that idea to rest. Christians don't believe in reincarnation—but I hope you'll understand why we don't, because a very important truth is behind our conviction.
Christians reject reincarnation for two main reasons. The first is because the Bible does not teach it, and in fact makes it clear that when we die we don't return to earth again but enter eternity—either with God in heaven or apart from God forever. The Bible says, "Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).
The second reason Christians reject reincarnation is because Christ has paid the full penalty for our sins—totally and completely. He did this by His death on the cross for us. You say you hope to become perfect some day in another life—but Jesus has already made us perfect in God's eyes, by taking away all our sins! The Bible says, "But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 6:11).
Think of it: Every sin you have ever committed can be completely cleansed, if you will turn to Christ in repentance and faith! Don't be deceived by a false hope, but put your faith and hope in Christ today.

Are the people and events in modern times or do they seem old fashioned and strange? Dreaming of a past life possibly? I would meditate on it.

Usually seeing places in dreams means you are going to move out soon. Seeing people (if they are strangers) means your life going to change.

you may want to look up astral projection or OBEs
we often travel during our dreams , i am told that while our body gets the rest it needs , our spirit is free to wander ...
however this may not be the case with all dreams about unknown people and places ...
the secret lies in getting what you have dreamed confirmed by looking up these people and places and getting evidence of such

it means you are trying to escape your current reality, your 'real' life. ignore the dreams but make note of the locales. then proceed to focus on self-actualization. figure out or re-discover your true essence.... WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE, REALLY? and go for it.
