Run, don't walk to a counsellor. Talk to someone professional who can help you turn those horrible feelings you have into positive ones. I'm sure that looks pointless rihgt now, but that's just your brain playing tricks on you. Don't listen to those thoughts. Starting rihgt now, do for a walk--walk as fast as you can for an hour or until you are so tired. When you get back, eat something very healthy like raw veggies and a big glass of water. I say this becasue sometimes even making tiny positive changes helps. AND it is proven fact that exercise helps create new pathways in teh brain where "feel good" chemicals can pass--you will be changing your body's makeup for the positive--until you can see someone.
Please go for help right away!!!!!!

Go to a professional, help others and pray. No matter if you're not a religious person, God will heal you if you are willing to accept what He wants to give you: health.
Your current situation might change, you dont know that. Maybe you are only having a bad period in your life, and after a big storm, there is always peace.
Dont do anything stupid, be strong...listen to those here who have given you good advices and remember that no matter how bad you think you are, or how lonely you feel, God is always there. Even when you feel hate or anger towards Him. He loves you.

I don't understand - what could possibly be so bad that you would want to die anyway? Death is a permanent thing that you can't ever get back. Not to mention, think about those you leave behind and how they would feel knowing you thought your life was so useless that it would just be better not to exist. That's nonsense and you know it. Unless you're a murdering, raping, stealing, drug addict who has not ambition in life and has not talent, education or common sense - then there is no reason for you to be thinking so negatively.
You need to think really hard about your life, make a list: pros on one side and cons on the other. Then after you do that - pretend you are a child in Iraq or Africa or somewhere like that and write a pro and con sheet for one of those children and think about it really hard - who has it worse?
You clearly are clinically depressed and need some help - but you have to want help to get it. So if you are seriously fed up with things, but you are "afraid" to kill yourself (thank God), then please go get some help - there are way too many resources out there to help you.
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and pull it together - self pitty and hatred will not make things better!

Just ignore that nursing student she sounds like probably has her own fair share of problems.. Nursing school does not make you a doctor nor a psychiatrist and telling someone with depression to "stop feeling sorry for themselves", or to "pull it together" is unhelpful, callous, and shows a general lack of understanding about the nature of depression. It is a very condescending attitude you take, and I hope you can rethink it.
Please remember that Winston Churchill spent a good deal of his life complaining about his "black dog" (depression). Abraham Lincoln as well was famous for his moody states. Would you tell them that they need to "pull it together"? Even though you will probably never accomplish 1/10000th of what they did in your lifetime?
Perhaps you have never faced the sort of crisis in your life that would enable you to sympathize with this person, that answer I would be able to accept, you are probably young and have grown up sheltered. I sincerely hope that you are able to learn some more compassion and empathy before you leave school and enter the nursing field for all of our sakes.

I really hope you check back to these answers and take them seriously.
No problem is permanent. Everything changes... sometimes even for the better.
Now, I'm not a very religious person, but I think you might want to pray... believe me, it worked for me at one time.
If you don't want to pray, then please call someone who seems nice and caring and talk about your problems with them. Try not to be embarrassed, you need a good friend and that is nothing to be embarrassed about.

Check yourself into a hospital where they can lock you down...in a ward where your friend will be in the same situation. You won't be able to have anything but the clothes they give you..you won't be able to do anything without someones permission. Everything you do enjoy will be gone..At the same time you are getting counseling..you will be without the simple things in life you enjoy and you will then respect everything you took for granted.

Keep being afraid to kill yourself. Whatever you do, just DON'T go through with it. We all have bad days or bad weeks, but they pass. Just remember that people care about you and someone would be devistated if you passed over.
