You are right and wrong in your theory and ideas about Islam. It needs a lot of study before you finally reach a decision. 1- Most Muslims would attract and impress people by the Quran. But as soon as the person decides to be a Muslim, they will direct him/her to the absurd and illogical sources of Hadith and Sunnat, saying that they are compulsory. It is like the hiring process, where you are shown something and put in the other, once you sign the agreement. So be careful about that part. And that is why I am saying, you need a LOT of study. I too am a devout muslim. The ONLY difference is that I was born and raised in a FIRM SUNNI Muslim family. It was about 7 years ago (when I was 35 years old) that I finally got enlightened with the truth i.e. God Alone, Quran Alone. And the sheer falsehood that is enforced and practiced in the name of religion. Since them I am a firm Quranist, Submitter and to be precise a "Reformist". 2- It is TRUE that the Quran "DOES" contain Scientific information. This information was far ahead of its time, at the time of its revelation. And I believe that there is information that is far ahead even of the present times. Therefore, a few things may appear as in conflict to the present science. But in the longer run, Science will yield to the facts. 3- The Big Bang is CONFIRMED in the Quran. 4- The Theory of Evolution is NOT confirmed in the Quran. The Quran does say that evolution WITHIN a given specie is fact. HOWEVER it DOES NOT say that evolution across the specie is possible i.e. a- An ant may evolve to different type of ants etc. b- BUT it is NOT possible that an ape would evolve into a human OR a fish will evolve into a bird, a lion would evolve to a goat, an elephant to an ant etc. ---------- As far as sweeping the world is concerned. I would only say that your knowledge about the Quran is near to a nill at the moment. You need to know from the Quran, what is the purpose of life. Did God create all this just for fun, or for a specific purpose. And let me tell you that the Quran contains FAR more information than Old Testament. Once you know these things you will know it is NOT for the numbers. The Majority is to be doomed. It is the minority (in fact minority of the minorities) that will be successful. As far as sweeping or ruling the world is concerned. I personally think, the numbers are STILL not required for that. The world is ruled by less than 0.5% people of the world. Isn't it ??

Islam does the same thing with the Bible, by the way. No, don't go ask the Catholic church for the answers, then what? You expect what goes around not to come around?
Twisty Twisty the truthy truthy? Who knows whats not crooked? Are you absolutely sure? Profoundly sure? Hmmm....
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
Well, the answer is, that if I am to accept Islam fro Muslims at face value, then perhaps Muslims should accepts Catholicism at face value?
Probably don't like that either.
Hmmm. If I accept the Islamic Traditional interpretation of the Qu'ran or Haldith, then will you accept the Traditional interpretation of the Gospels?
Even if we can show there was statistically no significant change in the Gospels, or is this kind of proof only good for the Qu'ran or Haldith.
Truth hurts, my friend, and it cuts in every direction.

Why in the world should non-muslims trust this site?
Because it is ALL TRUE!
The Verse Of The Sword from Al-Tawbah
Fight and slay the pagans (infidels) wherever ye find them, and seize them,
beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war." - Sura 9:5
"Prophet, make war on unbelievers and hypocrites, and deal rigorously
with them." - Sura 9:73
"Let not the unbelievers think they will ever get away. They have not
the power to do so. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at
your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah
and your enemy... Prophet, (Muhammed) rouse the faithful to arms!
If they (the non-Muslims) incline to peace (accept Islam) make
peace with them." - Sura 8:59
"If they reject your judgement, know that it is Allah's wish to scourge
them for their sins." - Sura 5:49
"Believers (Muslims), take neither Jews nor Christians to be your
friends: they are friends with one another.
Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number,
and God does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) wrong-doers." - Sura 5:51
"Not Jesus, but a look alike, was substituted and crucified at the Cross." -4:157
THIS IS BLASPHEMY - AND A LIE! No proof can be offered at all.

I've seen the site and many there are former muslims. I'm sure they appreciate the free publicity. It is a VERY GOOD sight. I believe you can view the entire site in arabic if you click on that option. I've heard so many lies said about this site. They must do a good job and are considered a threat to have so many muslims go online and try to spread it around that the site is a bad site.

Eversince Islam, there has been no religion in the world that could sleep well in their own homes. What kind of trust are you expecting from non-muslims? when I was still a child, I always hear form my parents and neightbors, that if you are staying in aplace where there are are Muslims and you announce your religon other than theirs, be careful in turning away from them.

Acquire knowledge, because he who acquires it, in the way of the Lord, performs an act of piety; who speaks of it praises the Lord; who seeks it, adores God, who dispenses instruction in it, bestows alms; and who imparts it to its fitting objects, performs an act of devotion to God. Knowledge enables its possessor to distinguish what is forbidden from what is not; lights the way to Heaven; it is our friend in the desert, our companion in solitude, our companion, when bereft of riends; it guides us to happiness; it sustains us in misery; it is our ornament in the company of friends; it serves as an armor against our enemies. With knowledge the creatures of Allah rises to the heights of goodness and to noble position, associates with the sovereigns in this world and attains the perfection of happiness in the next
