I can play the guitar fairly well and sing really well (I hope) because i've been singing since forever, BUT I have no idea what to do if i want to START a band. Because a) I'm kinda young and b) I dunno if I should have, like, auditions or whatever.

And if I can't start a band, how do you think I should join one? I really have no idea who to ask about these things... so yeah...

Thanks :P

Take ur guitar and take it somewhere public and play it. If electric try and sneak it into a school science project. Testing Frequency of the strings or something. Tell your friends you play and tell them your interested in starting a band. When you get famous give me a call and i'll come be your roadie.

Just ask your friends if there is anyone they know that can play an instrument and/or sing. It depends upon what type of music you want to perform how fast you'll find members for a band. Hope this helps!

Oh, yeah. Talk to your guitar or singing teacher, if you have one, musicians tend to know other musicians. Once you're in the loop, you'll be golden, I hope.

Check with your friends. Ask them if they know anyone who plays an instrument, sings or whatever. Advertise in your school newspaper or blog. See if someone a couple of years older is interested in helping you chose who to play with, and what to play.

Just get the people together and try to play something.

That should work.

hello :)
if you are undecided about the way you sound take a few of your favorite songs to the local music store and ask if they have a room to let you record yourself singing or know of a similar studio, of course there is a fee. there is a place like it in our local mall and I've seen them at state fairs. they furnish the music and even throw a video recording of you to play for family and friends. try this before you hit the streets and get discouraged and then without trying again stop following your dream. look for American idol or it's local radio equivalent and let them judge. you decide (:
