I believe that the answer is that they are not so much interested in the benefits as they are afraid of the consequences of not believing. God is vengeful.

There is nothing wrong with people believing in God and no there is not a benefit package for that. You can go to church every day of the week and be a wicked person, that does not mean you are forgiven. Jesus did die for our sins, many times in the bible he tells those he healed pick up your mat and sin no more. He did not say, okay, I forgive you today and tomorrow you can return to your old ways and everything is cool. No, it's not like that. Many people have to the whole concept about religion all wrong. The only benefit you are going to have is how you lived your life on this planet and conducted yourself because in the end God is the judge of all of us.

There is so much evidence in our everyday lives that God is real and he is trying to make us recognize the truth. Some of us just know in our hearts that God and everything in the Bible is real so that is the point, that it's just true! God loves you to death literally! Jesus came and died and was resurrected so nobody would have to go to hell where we send ourselves for not believing and living a good life. There are so many miracles that happen all over the world that don't make the news and once you have seen these miracles there is no convincing such people that there is no God.

Because you get to know the greatest person that ever was or ever will be. He is the most handsome, the funniest, the most sincere, the most loyal, the most understanding, the most loving, the most honest the most ...everything. He is your mate , your lover, and your best friend, then he introduces you to his Father from where all good comes from including Jesus who is the same as the Father. God is worth everything and anything and even more than that .

I believe in God because I believe in God. I think I still have a long way to go before achieving my spot in Heaven.

If that was the case how would you explain so much 'guilt' in the religions we have now. Hell, sin, purgatory, etc. People believe most likely because its like air. You cant see it or taste it but you can feel it and you know its there.
And you can't exist without it....

Why do I believe, whats the point? For me, its not about reward of heaven, or fear of hell. I love God, I love Jesus, I have faith in them, I believe because I want to spend eternity with them. For me, its not a crutch, its not a free pass, its not always easy, its just what FEELS right to me.

You must not believe in God yourself because you have never truly experienced the benefits

No I believe in God because I feel like it. It makes me feel good and safe. It gives my life relevance and a clear example to follow in the life of Christ. The rest is all perks.
