In October (and many cases earlier), I went over 2 months and no more questions than usual at the border. You have to bring IN CASE OF some proofs that you are still working somewhere, if you have some bills showing that you have an apartment, better a house with your name. That is only if they check if you might be a person searching to work in US.

If you go in airplane, they will even not ask why you go there.

You might go back in forth as much as 6 months minus one day in a calendar year and you will still be fully a Canadian.

Don't forget to buy Health Insurance as it will not be paid by your province. It is about $3/day or different plans. CAA, Royal Bank have plans for that matter.

A question that you would probably ask. How much might I bring back in Canada. $700 (can) for a long stay (probably more than 7 days).

If you really are a Canadian and you have a Canadian passport. You are allowed to travel just about anywhere in the world without a visa for exactly 6 months without any trouble.

I haven't heard anything. I have many family members in Canada. Many of my cousins are Canadians. Believe it or not many Canadians are related to Americans. I guess it's why we take it so hard when you criticize us. It's like a family member criticizing you.
Anyway you need to look at the State department regulations. They are the absolute authority.
As you see you can stay for 90 days without Visa.

Ya dont need a visa. As long as your reason for being in the USA is a valid one and you dont get some idiot immigration officer, then theres no problem. I had a problem going from Toronto Ontario to Atlanta Georgia 1 time by plane. I was going to be away for almost 3 weeks, and they just delayed me awhile in customs, but then eventually let me through. After that, I never had a problem and my trips now are usually 3-9 weeks.

Yes, no problem, if it's for a vacation/visit. Canadians don't need a visa for that.

Although the US has been a little wary ever since William Shatner came to visit and wouldn't go away, Canadians are still welcome without Visas.
